COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An immense, bold, black as night, american stout beauty; Cavatica is no dry Irish anything. Made in the tradition of terminator, except stronger, one sip and you will surely take notice of what you’re drinking. The name honors this brewer’s affinity with arachnia. Be forewarned, this beer will stain your clothes.

Can shared at August THT. Very dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of roasted malts, dark cherries, chocolate. Medium body, low carbonation and a roasty bitter finish.

Smells thick. Tastes thick too. A mouthful. Lol. Slight molasses aroma. Nice foaming . Somewhat creamy. Delicious roastedness and burnt grain nuttiness.

On tap at the Beergarden in Eugene Oregon. Opaque black body with a good tan head that leaves some patterned sticky lacing. More bitter than sweet. Hints of espresso, bitter chocolate, and burnt sugar.

On tap at Brewery in Astoria. Dark black body with thin chocolate head. Nose is malty, toasty and chocolate and coffee notes. Taste is similar of malts and cocoa. Very toasty. Some bitter and coffee in the finish. Pretty good but quite strong.

Can. Big black licorice flavors and aroma that dominate. Some smoke. A little bit of coffee and chocolate. Stonger than i would have liked.

16 oz can pours pitch black with a red hue when held up to the light. Tan head leaves a small layer of film on the top. Roasty nose, some chocolate. No glaring off-flavors, just a bit bland. Mouthfeel is a bit chalky. Doesn’t hide the alcohol very well. Pleasant enough.

Poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was of smoke, herbal hops and dark chocolate. Flavor similar, not very bog in bpdy, but easy to drink and a good smokey character that I like.

trapped (3150) - New York, TURKEY - JAN 12, 2016
Can thanks to Lectvay. Pours inky black with normal sized foamy tan head, roasted malt aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter burnt malt and coffee bean taste, faint alcohol undertones, medium bitter finish. Very well balanced for a high ABV.

16oz can. Rich roasted malt aroma with nice notes of dark chocolate and some coffee. Pours black as night with a thin light brown head with poor retention but decent lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt with a good dark chocolate sweetness as well as a good, chewy mouthfeel and full body. Finishes smooth with a tiny bit of coffee sneaking into the flavor at the very end. Excellent stout!
