Hazy blond color, creamy head. Mild coffee smell, but it’s like the coffee left on the counter the day after, a bit fruity maybe. The coffee plays better in the flavor, delicate, adding a dimension to the good IPA. Crackery malts, not too dry, fruity hops, a bit juicy.
Very good; Fort George know their IPAs.
Keg at Fat Heads, PDX, 09/11/14.
Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent off white covering.
Nose is big coffee grinds, citric peel, bitter orange, light smoke, melon, hops.
Taste comprises coffee beans, coffee cake, hop presence, light citric notes, orange pith, backdoor grapefruit.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Solid stuff, top draw coffee IPA, this works for me! mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 23, 2015
On tap at Fort George, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out mostly coffee and gentle piney hops. Flavour brings out a great mix of coffee and piney hops. For a style that is a bit hard to pull off due to the clashing flavours, this works really well. Ferris (16296) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 23, 2015
Draft - Really nice coffee notes and fruity citrus hops. Clearish gold with a white head. Nice coffee roast and some nice grapefruit. Disjointed but the best of both worlds. Dogbrick (13547) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2014
This brew is a clear dark golden color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, coffee and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, subtle roasted coffee and toasted malt. The finish is roasty with a coffee and hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Would have been a wish lister if I hadn’t just added it. FtG is solid, and this newish beer sounded really cool. Found a single at John’s Market. Aroma instantly hits the nose. Big nose of 80% coffee (so nice) and 20% hops. Hazy golden ale. Hard to tell if this is fresh and the hops are supposed to take a back seat, or if it’s sat. No date. Either way, pretty damn good beer. Sessionable yet contemplative (love that kinda beer)...wonderful roasted coffee flavor as well with an underpining of cirus and earthy hops. If this were slightly more balanced it would have scored even higher douglas88 (9572) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 12, 2014
On tap at Belmont. A clear golden color (dark) with a medium white head. A sweet nose mostly of coffee. The flavor is similarly dominated by coffee, some light vanilla, fruity hops, orange bitterness. Dry. OK. I’m not the biggest coffee guy. BuckeyeBoy (8281) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 16, 2014
On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a crisp golden topped with a long lasting white head. Nose is holy coffee spicy jalapeno and a nice hop kick. Taste is as the nose with lots of coffee and spice. A little bitterness on the end. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - NOV 14, 2016
Draft at SB. Oh, this is a bit of a weird one, as you might have guessed. Pours a slightly hazy burnished medium amber with a dense and creamy off-white head. Nose comes on clearly focused on coffee, got that earthy nutty roastiness of a good mug. There’s some dry hop bitterness in counterpoint, but it’s really coffee. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Lightly toasted caramel base on the mid palate, under plenty of nutty earthy coffee roast and some dry piney hop counterpoint. Some people love it, but one was enough for me. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Can: Coffee aroma, soft hop, a bit soil like. Fairly good balance on the tongue, hoppy, a bit more citrusy but still a touch of soil, with a coffee background. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Wished the hoppiness were a tad sweeter to counteract the coffee. Decent otherwise.
