COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For this latest seasonal release we decided to get adventurous and add Carafa III to our malt bill. This black malt is one of the mellowest, without the over-the-top roasty bitterness that you find dominanting most black barleys.

Not a bad black IPA, but more tilts towards mild IPA, with roasted malts in the background for sure. Solid B. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Serving: from can--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate, pine hop. Appearance: huge, rocky, light brown initial head with excellent lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Cola-colored body. Taste: lightly sweet initial flavor and moderately bitter, roasty finish with hint of chocolate. Palate: medium-to-full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great, lasting aroma. Sheets of lacing. Sweet flavor balances the bitterness of the hops. Nice, smooth palate.

Pours black with a thick, foamy tan head. Fruity hop aroma - peach, mango, grapefruit, some pine too, and just a bit of mellow malt sweetness underneath. Flavor is surprisingly multifaceted - peach and mango upfront, then a bit more bitterness comes in, and finishing with moderate roasted malt, pine, and more bitterness. Finishes crisp and dry. Excellent.

On tap at Fort George. Colour...completely black with a thin tan head. Nose...loads of molasses and roasted savoury nuts that meld well with the hops. Palate...bitter, but sweet as well, with more molasses notes and brown sugar syrup. There’s graham cracker and sailor jack on the mid palate and notes of Moravian ginger cookies on the finish. The finish is also lightly bitter and quite long.

12-oz can. Thanks m! Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Lots of lace. Big sweet grapefruit nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Roasty dark ashy mid palate with a bright grapefruity overtone. Great combination. Long crisp finish.

Can- pours out black with thick tan head. Nose is dominated by hop. Taste is mostly hop but not overly hoppy, somewhat boozy. Has a bitter coffee like finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From can. Deep dark brown color with an inch thick tan head that lasts. Aroma is pine, citrus, and roasting. Taste is resinous pine and citrus hops with a smooth roasted malt and coffee presence, and a tiny hint of dark chocolate. Retains a good balance between the hoppiness and the roasted maltiness.
