Edit: For anyone disputing this review, please contact me directly first. This brew is OBVIOUSLY an old keg, but in the PNW, these kegs have been released again recently at growler stations and at obviously unsuspecting bars. It is a disaster and NOBODY should spend the $$$.
MIni growler picked up at the Meridian Growler guys tonight.. hazy golden... perfumed oxidized pale malt with weird apricot esters and and abundant sawdust oaky element that shows no resemblance of Bourbon Aging.. This is a keg that somebody forgot about and the brewery and the distributor should be ashamed they put these out there. This should have been DUMPED... not poured into growlers at GGM and the Boise COOP. Shameful.
Unfortunately, this was probably a fantastic beer when it was released 3+ years ago.. But now it is a disaster.

Poured on tap from the brewery in Astoria. Color is clear and copper. Aroma is definitely your typical Belgium aroma. Flavor has a chewy bite to it, almost like a tart peaches and cream. Has a long skunky, bitter aftertaste. slowrunner77 (12594) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 17, 2014
"Dark amber pour w immense head. Aroma of slight hops and yeast, with an abundance of four roses. A cheaper bourbon would not have worked well with this beer, as both the Belgian and hop aspects of the beer are overshadowed. With the quality of these barrels, though, the beer is quite enjoyable."

Good retention and medium lacing. Smells of booze, caramel and biscuit. Tastes of lemon zest, molasses, boxy and citrus. Boozy aftertaste.

Deep amber pour. Barrel ageing adds really neat complexity to this beer. Belgian yeast adds a nice addition to a very well rounded DIPA. Quite tasty. Slightly boozy and sweet malts linger.

Draft at 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a very cloudy medium brownish amber, lots of head. Aroma is yeasty, funky, biscuit malt, candi sugar, vanilla/Bourbon, some resinous notes. Holy hell, one of the most complex aromas I’ve ever had for the style. Body is very lively, and finish is equally complex. Sweetness of coconut, rolling bitterness/resinous, slight boozy sweetness. This won’t be for everybody, but is really impressively done. brokensail (16631) - Dublin, California, USA - MAY 6, 2013
Golden orange pour with a white head. Floral hops, sweet caramel, toast, toffee, and vanilla. Some bourbon/wood, grass, and light citrus. The flavor is kind of meh. Notes of bourbon and wood, very citrus light hops, and sweet caramel malt. Notes of vanilla and toffee, lightly grassy, and a mild bitterness on the finish. Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Very nice barrel and Bourbon flavor and finish. This was rich malt and nice hops. Very tasty beer. BillKismet (4106) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Beautiful cidery, hazy amber body. Not remotely like the "IPA" description given. Tangerine bourbon nose with fresh orange zest. Similarly, the body is of orange zest and citrusy bourbon. No rose hips detectable. A bourbon orange juice infusion. Bitter citric finish. crackedmachine (481) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 26, 2013
Pours a hazy light-orange with sizable off-white head. Aroma is a pleasant combination of whiskey and citrus/grapefruit hops. Flavor follows this, but with less whiskey, more caramel malt, and huge bitterness. Very enjoyable!
