3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 23, 2014 Tap: super opaque, completely muddled swampy-brown with a lighter, beige head comprised of big bubbles that quickly scatters to a small collar. Aroma is full of apple pie, lots of sweet & bready malts, a touch of cinnamon, & a mild, back-end apple skin tartness. Taste is more of the same, with fresh red apples, heavy bread & toasted malt, cinnamon, with a mild mid-palate tartness that slowly fades into a finishing sweetness. Not cider-like, thanks to the breadiness & heft of the beer. Easy drinking, pretty good stuff.
On tap at the Michigan Fall Beer Fest. A lot better than I thought it would be. Probably my favorite I’ve had from the brewery.
