UPDATED: SEP 17, 2013 I love Founders and really wanted to try to this. I was ultimately disappointed. Its not terrible, but not where I would place with the rest Founders catalogue. Pale orange appearance, strong smell that is completely dominated by grapefruit. The taste is definitely grapefruit as well, perhaps a little pine. Just kind of one note and flat. I think needs a little more malt and higher ABV to round out, but I know the whole point was to keep it low. Not really bad, but not their best.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and floral hops is quite nice and refreshing. Taste is also dominated by clean crisp citrus notes with nice floral undertones. Malt is present with a fuller body then I was expecting considering the ABV. Nice refreshing hoppy IPA with low ABV there should be more of those out there.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2014 [7/13] Bottle. Clear pale amber with a modest white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, passionfruit, a little soap. Thin body getting towards watery. A little caramel sweetness, but really nothing much in terms of malt. Citrus, pine and soap again. Moderate bitterness. Dont think this got here quick enough but its mainly perfumery anyway. A decent dust cutter. [2.6]

Can. Aroma of grapefruit, passionfruit, pine, baby powder. Watery. Very clean, rather vacant palate with just a little caramel behind the hops. Pine lingers at the crisp finish. Much better, but theres not much beer in it for 4.7%.

Aroma: Pineapple, grapefruit, lychee and pale malt. Fresh and zingy.

Appearance: Hazy golden body with a thin white head that slowly fades. Average carbonation. Nice lacing.

Taste: Tropical fruit with a faint cheesy note. Lemon and biscuit. Bitter finish.

Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.

Overall: Delicious - reminds me of a slightly weaker version of BrewDogs Punk IPA, which is also excellent.

Strong aroma is VERY hoppy and has a grassy note. Pours a nice clear amber with a frothy and effervescent ivory head. Hoppy flavor is more resiny than woody, barely bitter, a little sweet, with malty and grassy notes. Mouthfeel is on the watery side. OK, maybe this came from a not-so-hot batch since other people have given it a higher rating. I just might give it another try, which I have done with other beers.

335ml bottle. Pours clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma of straw, peach and hops. Plenty of hops to. Flavours of straw and yeast also. Some fruit, peach and nectarine. Moderate bitterness. A good amount of hops. Very nice for an IPA of such a low abv.

On tap at The Common Table in Dallas. Pour is clear orange with a frothy white head and grey lacing. Big fruity, grapefruity, orange peels, light grass, caramelly, light bready, and biscuity aroma. Taste is big hoppy, grapefruity, orange peel, weed, light caramel, bread, a touch of resin and cracker with a light crisp bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation. Nice stuff and definitely one of the best session pale ales I have had.
