On tap; pour is honey gold into this snifter. Mild white head with decent lacing. A nice grassy hop aroma on the nose, this brew is simply a sessionable IPA. The malt profile is muted, the grassy hop profile is light for the style, and it happens to finish on the dry side. A touch of citrus, overall, decent.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy yellow-brown body, medium tight cream head. Spicy hops nose, with bitter citrus and pine, very similar to several of the brewery’s other IPAs/PAs. Grassy, citrusy body backed by light cerealy malts, with good firm bitterness and a light palate. Drinks like a reformulated "Extra Pale Ale," a low-cal version of the solid Pale Ale.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate earthy hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium earthy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew that exceeded my expectations.

Draft at Cincy Winter Beerfest. Aroma is floral hops and some carmalized malts. Notes of fresh cut grass, citrus, and some grapefruit come out. Palate is light and very refreshing. Flavor is a little bitter. This is a damn good example of a regular IPA.

Pours pale gold, moderate and fine lacing. Nose is straw, grassy hops. Mouthfeel is dry, grassy, and resiny. I could see this being a decent session beer, but I wouldn’t want to drink one of these. It’s just blah.

Had a sampler of this at the Founder’s brewpub in GR, then brought hom a growler. Maybe my favorite beer. Citrusy hops flavor/aroma combined with a really nice grassy/piney aroma. Very smooth and drinkable. Wish they had this in bottles all the time!

Grabbed this growler at Founders in late August. Consumed the day before Labor Day. Pours a nice light gold-to-copper color with a white head and a good amount of legs. Smell is quite strong and hoppy with some excellent floral, citrus, and tropical notes. Grapefruit and mango stand out. Taste draws back a bit, but is still quite nice. Light malt character, but really not too much. Mouthfeel is light and dry. Drinkability is very nice. I’m really glad the trend of these lighter abv, highly-hopped ales seems to be catching on both with pale ales like this one, as well as quite a few hoppy wheats. Bravo to Founders; this was well deserving of its GABF medal. Serving type: growler Reviewed on: 09-28-2010

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2011 On tap at Founders br Clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of mild cat pee and pine with sweet malt and light citrus. Taste of mild pine and resinous hops, mild citrus to go with caramel and sweet malt. Moderate bitterness.

10-24-10 (7-3-6-3-13)On tap at Founders brewpub. Clear amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly hopped with mild pine and some grassy hops. Some sweeter malt balances it out, a lighter offering hence the name. Taste is fairly mild with light grassy hops, very mild citrus, a bit of sweet malt and a dry finish with slight bitterness.

Draft at Founders. I believe the employees were also referring to this as "IPA Jr." It’s definitely lighter than most IPAs with a mild aroma and flavor of grassy hops. Palate is on the thin side with soft carbonation.

On tap at Founders. Poured into a tall almost pilsner style glass. Golden amber color with zero real head poured. Good aroma of hops but not really citrus or piney but almost fruity type hop aroma. Fairly hop forward but pretty light. Like the hops. The back end falls apart a little for me. Lighter mouthfeel. Not bad overall.
