12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a moderately clear amber color. The head is about one finger high and white, with a somewhat rough-looking texture. It retains itself alright, though, and leaves some lacing on the side of the glass. S: Ive noticed how I kind of like catty IPAs, and this one fits that mold. The hops also provide melon, mango, and herbal notes. There is a touch of sweetness, as well. T: The first sip strikes me weirdly with its finishing herbal hop tones. After another sip, it smooths out nicely. There are twinges of juicy tropical fruits on the front end; I wish this was more pronounced. Otherwise, its a simplistic, enjoyable small IPA. M: I look for these kind of beers to be crisp and light - and this fits that criteria well. Id enjoy it more if some of the finishing astringency was cleaned up a touch, but this still has good drinkability. O: Good, not great. As much as I love trying these session IPAs, theres only one so far I can say I loved (DayTime). Not to mention, session IPAs dont make a huge amount of sense from a monetary standpoint. Having said that, between All Day and Centennial, Id choose this one every single time.

Twelve ounce can from my brother-in-law (thanks, Larry), tasted on January 13, 2017. Cloudy amber/gold hue, fine piney/citrus aroma, flavor like the nose (with some resin) but not quite as good as the aroma advertised--something a bit off in the taste and slight astringency. Still, not bad and worth trying.

355 ml can. Pours a slightly hazy orange-golden with a white head. Very nice intensely hoppy aroma with lime, grapefruit, some pine, some toasted malt. Light to medium body with a soft carbonation, a very light sweetness and a medium bitterness. The flavor is again dominated by the hops, albeit not that fruity than the aroma, lime, pine some light breadish toasted malt. It has a good bitter hop present, leading to a bitter finish. Pretty full of taste for the low ABV.

12 oz bottle PDT 12/14/16- Pours lightly hazy golden with a medium white head with nice layered lace. Aroma is spicy hops, resin, pine, sweet light malt. The taste is pine resin, sticky bud, some citrus, all good, lacking a bit of depth to accomplish session strength. Could drink this all day for sure though, good beer.

Draft at SB. Pours a slightly hazy bright burnished medium amber with a dense and creamy whitish head that sticks around for quite a while. Bright pine and grapefruit nose, clearly defined, very appealing and approachable. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Lightly toasted caramel under a big bursting mid palate of pine and grapefruit. Great depth and explosiveness of flavor, all beautifully balanced--amazing for the ABV. Lingering fruity slightly bitter finish.

Bottle from beer junction. Bottled mid December 2016. Nice hop flavor on the nose, not much head to speak of. I love founders malt characteristics and top that with a nice hop profile is quite nice. Hops have a little tropical taste.

Its impressive that Founders could make a session ale taste like a full fledge IPA, for the most part. It does become slightly noticeable that this is not a full IPA at times. Still impressive, but not really impressed by the flavors at be. The hoppy bitterness can linger on the finish and give a metallic finish to the beer. The Hop on the front can also be a tad metallic. Not really impressed enough in the end.

Founders take on the session IPA seems to be one of the better versions of the style, ramping up the citric-floral hoppiness while keeping the bitterness from becoming the dominant characteristic. Starts with a burst of grapefruit and tangerine, then allows the biscuit malt to briefly punch through the hop front. Grows herbal and midly tart on the finish with a prolonged but friendly bitter fade. Not bad, just part of a style I usually dismiss as too one-note. All Day has a needed complexity, but still feels a bit dull for an IPA.

Golden colour with a creamy head. Aroma of hops, malt and some fruit. Grassy aroma with some sweet orange. Taste of hops, grass and some citrus. Nice bitterness and a good body. A light sweetness accompanying the bitterness.
