On tap; pour is honey gold into this snifter. Mild white head with decent lacing. A nice grassy hop aroma on the nose, this brew is simply a sessionable IPA. The malt profile is muted, the grassy hop profile is light for the style, and it happens to finish on the dry side. A touch of citrus, overall, decent.

Great concept for a beer and well executed. There is an inevitable trade-off for the lower abv - feels a bit thin and finishes abruptly - but overall this is a very tasty customer for its weight division. Nice-looking - marmalade orange with a thick centimetre of head. Mouth-watering, sweet aroma of passionfruit and tinned peaches. On the tongue: barley water, passionfruit again, mango. Good bitterness level for the concept. I can imagine putting a few of these away if the Australian price point were more session-friendly. Crikey, that went down fast. (355ml can from Leura Cellars. Loving the trend of lower-abv, or hoppier pale ales, or whatever you want to call them. It all reads: more hop flavor and aroma in a more drinkable package. Mine has a fruity-citrus nose and a sharp bitterness, medium body and a little sticky. Im not sure I quite got a handle on this one but will look for more.

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2015 Hazy golden color, no head. Very nice pine aroma. Really thin and watery body, but full of taste. Hops, herbs, floral, grassy, tangerine. Bitterness is well balanced. Bitter finish with a hint of sweetness. (Vrutak 0,33l bottle)

on tap at Buckeye beer engine, nose is awesome, super bright super hoppy but not bitter hoppy just bright citrus. body falls off on the hops but without any alcohol or burn just finely balanced.. this drinks pretty easy.. nice job founders.. though it was cited as 6% abv on the menu I believe it to be 4.7%

12oz short bottle into snifter glass. Clear amber-golden color with minimal white head going into a lacing quickly. Aroma of faint fruity hops, leaning towards peaches, apricots and some citrus to me. Taste is light hop bitterness and light malt sweetness balancing very well. Light body, moderate carbonation, very drinkable with a clean finish (well maybe some residual bitterness). Very good session ale (its in the name!).

Bottle from Sean - thanks! Pours a light golden caramel with a thinnish slick of white foam. Aroma is light hop bitterness, citrus, pine, and a clean, dry malt backbone. Taste has a touch more hop bitterness than the aroma with pine and some citrus before giving way to a clean and light malt finish. Dry and crisp in the mouth. As with everything Ive enjoyed from Founders this is well crafted and balanced. Very good sub-5% abv hoppy beer Id love to have access to on the regular out here in San Diego.

Flight on tap at The Royal Pig Fort Lauderdale. Rating is for a session IPA, not an IPA. Aroma: pines, grapefruits. App: clear pale with small white head and some lacing. Taste and palate: light body, clean, light bitter finish. Soft carbonation. Overall: Founders really nailed the session IPA here, clean, light and easy to drink
