COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout brewed with Chocolate and Coffee, aged in Maple Syrup-Bourbon Barrels.

CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Backstage Series #2: 10.6% ABV
Barrel-Aged Series (2017): 11.7% ABV

Sounded thick and frothy like a Coke as I poured it in to the snifter. Aroma of chocolate, malts and bourbon delight the nose. Taste is similar to KBS with Coffee and chocolate but a touch of maple sweetness rounds this delight to the senses off!

Well done once again Founders!

750ml bottle of 2017 Release. Pours a black color with a tan head. Medium sweetness. Mild on the maple.

Pours oily black with big, dense head. Aroma is complex - chocolate, coffee, bourbon with notes of vanilla and maple. Taste is sweet chocolate which combines with coffee and maple and finishes with smooth bourbon. An exquisitely balanced, nuanced imperial stout.

355ml bottle from LCBO, accidental early release today. Really good, some big coffee contrasting with the sweeter flavor layers. Other than the tasty coffee nothing sticks out too much, just enough chocolate and a suggestion of maple with the bourbon present and slightly warming the alcohol profile. Not super heavy but plenty assertive in the malt profile, wow. Finish is not acrid at all but plenty dry from hops and roast and coffee. --
* Edit * drinking more of the bottle later, it's extremely pleasant how the little bit of maple trickles down the late finish of the beer, and how that maple compliments the candy-ish caramel corn-like qualities of the bourbon-oak. Could enjoy that little detail for hours --
A rare top 50 RB experience, thanks Founders!

Strong coffee aroma. Pitch black in color with massive long lasting brown head. Full body. Taste is slightly sweet with strong notes of coffee and milk chocolate, faint notes of vanilla and bourbon. Smooth mouth feel and finish.

Tap. Black color with a medium head. Aroma of sweet vanilla and oak. Boozy as all hell. Cocoa, vanilla. Maple doesn't stand out too much. Sweet lactose.

On tap at Capitol Hop Shop. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a huge treacle, coffee and bourbon aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a lot of stuff in it. Most prominent are the chocolate and bourbon, but there is some maple and coffee in the finish. Lives up to its reputation.

Ten napój to deser w płynie. Mega słodki, nawet może nieco za słodki. KBS w nieco słodszej wersji, z mniejszą obecnością bourbonu.

Holy crap. A very powerful beer — in aroma, taste, and alcohol. Strong body and finish. The bourbon barrel hint is minor, as is the maple flavor. This beer doesn’t have much for comparison, in flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
