COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made to Celebrate Founders 15th Anniversary, Bolt Cutter Barley Wine is an American barley wine that pours deep copper color and is strong, sweet and malt-forward, with a spicy complexity. Typical of the style, it is very cellarable. The final product is a blend using beer that was aged in Bourbon barrels, some from aged maple syrup Bourbon barrels and some from standard fermentation. After blending, the beer was allowed to mature in bottles and kegs for a few months before releasing.

What an interesting barleywine, thanks for the share OmegaX. This beer looks, smells and tastes almost EXACTLY like Arrogant Bastard. I’d even like to go no further than to say so. Not kidding.

Pours a strawberry hazy golden color. Has a nice barley , sugar and honey taste. I wish I would have aged it more. I grabbed it thinking it was the porter in my fridge but the 15 percent alcohol is well hidden in the flavor. Perfect way to end a beautiful day.

750 mL bottle. Pours a clouded orange amber with a yellowy off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with citrus, toffee, very slight oxidation notes. Flavor has caramel, citrus hops, toastiness, oak with an alcohol sharpness and again a slight oxidation hint. Yum! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Atom (2453) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 25, 2013
On tap at Pracna pours a dark mahogany amber with a large off-white head. Nice hop presence in the nose, with some caramel malts. Taste has a mellow caramel malt with some soft vanilla and soft bourbon presence with a dragging bitter resinous pine hop on the finish. Overall drinkable for a barrel aged Barly Wine with a solid hop presence.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Beautiful hazy red orange, thick, dense light golden crown that retains magnificently. Sweet breadcrusts, brown sugar, sponge toffee, light yeast, lightly floral, some sherry qualities. Densely chewy, rich and lovely. To me, an archetypical American style BW.

Golden brown beer with white head that doesn’t stay around like the common one night stand. Smells like a solid barley wine sweet but bready just like the taste, finishing the bottle you can’t help but smile and think about all the other barley wines you’ve had and think why can’t they be this good perfect

Tap at butcher and the boar. Sweet orange and hop aromas. Tastes like intense honey, hops and a strong orange bourbon finish.

Smells very sweet and has the typical barley wine type resiny degraded hop flavor. Very smooth. I would imagine time would do this one even more benefit. Tastes sweet, barrel aging not super present but can detect a little oak flavor on the finish.
