This is definitely a big beer, verging in syrupy, boozy, hops big but overwhelmed by the rest. But the bourbon barrel is almost like the wood without the bourbon. Blended perhaps?

I don’t rate too many brews, but have tasted many in my long and storied life. Tasting this for the first time, this is one of the best flavor profiles I’ve ever tasted in any beer of any style. The first IPA + Bourbon that lives up to its name. I shall venture forth into the retail yonder and buy up all I can track down tomorrow. May need to re-rate Westvleteren after this. . .

Rich copper color. Doesn’t poor heavy but don’t let it fool you. Strong Bourbon punch that really hides the hoppy flavor that you know is there. If you don’t sip this, you are destined to be Doomed! woody, vanilla, golden, hazy, medium body, long finish,

Braudog (6710) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JUL 3, 2017
Bottle. This pours with the muscular visuals you’d expect, with a nice rusty orange hue and sturdy head. The aroma is rich and inviting, with a definite boozy and whisky-laden aspect. The bourbon and vanilla aspects are even more evident in the drink, which makes itself clear it should only be a sipper. (#6688, 7/3/2017)

Uber clean bright copper color with a thin head of white foam. Earth, wood, and caramel at the base with a fine vanilla taste and aroma enveloping it all. Slight dry hoppy finish and some faint citrus at the core.

On tap at yard house. Pours out a dark gold topped with a sand head. Nose is barrel notes sweet toffee caramel malt and pine citrus hops. Taste is more of the barrel notes a well balanced malts pine a nice sweetness.
