Changed a great deal with the temperature. Very sweet with a strong orange flavor. Oak aging isn’t super evident, but becomes more noticble as it warms. I’m not a huge barrel aged ipa fan, but this one is pretty good. Would Like to see how this changes with even more time. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - APR 21, 2013
Draft at Butcher & the Boar. Getting a little tobacco in the nose. Hazy amber. Some sugary sweetness. Getting more cigar box in the flavor. Some sweetness. Not a lot of hops which is surprising given the fact this is double trouble. Bourbon and maple syrup are subduing it. Pepper finish. Quite lovely. On tap at Butcher & the Boar, nice bold orangish gold pour with a very thin white head. Big citrus and caramel aromas to start, get some nice sweet bourbon as well. Taste is a bit of alcohol up front with done bourbon sweetness and caramel, blends well with the hops. Has a nice body and smooth finish, digging this beer.

Fresh from bottle. Clear pour - orangeish yellow with white head. Pine and citrus aroma. The tastes are bound together slightly by the bourbon flavor. Overall a much better offering than Double Trouble, though not as good as other Founders Backstage beers. kennydiaz (358) - Manahawkin, New Jersey, USA - APR 20, 2013
Pours a nice orange color with mild carbonation. It is hop goodness mixed with bourbon heaven.

From the tap at Founders. Golden clear color, small white head. Nose has pineapple and booze. Sweet in the beginning with tart hop flavors, mostly grapefruit, some pine. Some booze. Pretty good. spence3208 (18) - Maine, USA - APR 12, 2013
medium gold appearance, with very little head. Nose of citrus, bourbon, with some vanilla. Taste the same with a strong bourbon linger. I would have preferred it to be a little bit more malty, to round out the bourbon. but non the less would come back to it.
Cheers! Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - APR 11, 2013
Pours a deep golden color with a finger of tight foam. The nose is juicy tropical fruit, round vanilla, caramel malt, hubba bubba gum and a touch of boozy bourbon. The palate follows the nose with to dimension that play nicely but never integrate into the amazing beer that is there but never coming to its full potential. Still lots of things to like about this beer with a fruit forward hop profile that candies up the bourbon caramel notes with layers of coconut, mango, pineapple and a touch of sticky pine notes. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 9, 2013
(Growler) clear medium gold, few bubbles. Nose of big citrus, alcohol, bourbon, light vanilla, oak, complex. Taste of big alcohol, vanilla, citrus zest, lemon peel, smooth finish. madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 23, 2012

Hazy gold beer. Little white head. A little orange cream on the nose. Softish palate, a little syrupy and dry. Wonderful hops - orange, pineapple and pine which are all wrapped in a honey sweetness. Finishes soft and dry with bitter marmalade flavours and a pinch of black pepper. A marvellous sweet bitter fruity DIPA. Top drawer!
