One of the best - if not THE BEST - beers I've ever tasted. Distraught that I probably will never get to have it again.

Hoppy IPA with a bourbon aged finish-- everything I want in a beer. Perfection. Need to find this on tap.

Golden pour with a white head. Smells like bourbon and sweet caramel and the taste follows it up. Vanilla caramel is what I am getting, which dominates the body, combined with the bourbon makes this an extremely well rounded smooth beer. Towards the finish I started tasting a little butterscotch which led into a finish similar to that of a straight up bourbon on the rocks. If you appreciate great bourbon and great IPA then this is a dream beer. PhishPhan12 (10) - Amherst, New York, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Poured from a bottle into a snifter, appearance is a nice yellow orange color with a fluffy white head. The smell is outstanding bourbon and vanilla. Taste is outstanding with bourbon, zest and vanilla. This was the first of this style that I had tried but turned out amazing. Highly recommend! chrisberez (2) - New Hampshire, USA - JUL 15, 2017 does not count
Absolutely delicious from Founders. The oak and vanillas notes really compliment the bitterness of the hops, without the intense caramel notes you generally have with barrel aged imperial stouts (not saying I don, like those--I do--but the juxtaposition of flavors is really interesting here). Founders really nailed it with this one.

The added complexity from the bourbon is phenomenal. Great vanilla notes along with the smooth bourbon finish Cosmo6644 (102) - Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2015

The barrel-aged essence combined with strong, imperial foundation is fascinating - a real treat! Best savored like a fine bourbon or Scotch without food or or any other distractions other than the sunset & sounds from the nearby forest. Sip, don’t drink.
From 12 oz. bottle purchased today & enjoyed on a pleasant summer evening.
