3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slightly hazy light orange pour. Thick white head that lingers all the eay down the glass. Smell is resinous and bourbon. Tatse is much the same but it is missing a bit of malt and is quite thin on the finish. Nothing eeally amzing going on here. I have to question why you would barrel age a dipa.
Poured from a bottle. Delicious, very strong. Clear, orange. Delicious caramel aroma, very strong scotch taste. Luvystypotables (1965) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUL 22, 2017
Aroma of caramel, malt and bourbon, clear caramel color with a thick white well laced head. A caramel, bourbon and malt taste. A medium body with a sweet malt whiskey finish. MrHangover (4552) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2017
Bottle @ Floris’ Leaving Party. Pours a clear amber colored beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma has faded, cheesy hops, barley wine notes, lots of bourbon and vanilla in there. Very malty. Flavor is bittersweet and still has some of the hoppy bitterness in there, very sweet bourbon notes are also present. Very alcoholic, very strong with a kinda thin body. Not too impressive, probably past it’s shine. drjoeng (1291) - SINGAPORE - JUL 22, 2017
12.4%ABV. Imperial IPA.
Poured out amber. 12 SRM.
Nose is sweet and malty with hints of taffy and malted candy. Sweet cloying aroma of ripe longans and dried longans. Local aroma note: Cheng Tng. Coconut candy, coconut sugar and toasted coconut. Honeycomb candy, crumble.
Mouthfeel is watered honey. Palate has coconut, toasted almonds, hint of Marzipan. Medicinal flavors are band aids, tincture.
Finish is dry and bitter and long. Nice woody flavors start to develop near the end. Boozy and warming.
Overall, this was a very jagged taste ride, a little unusual for Founders. I’ll chalk it up to the bourbon barrel aging that’s accentuated some of the flavors and creating more conflict and less harmony. williamstome (1875) - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 20, 2017
Ruddy orange pour. sweet vanilla aroma. Sweet caramel and vanilla flavor, notes of wood and bourbon.

Bottle from my brother. Can’t believe the low ratings. This is top notch. Glowing orange copper body initial two fingers fluffy head subsides to tightly beaded cap. Nice mellow aroma of citrus and mats yield little clue to what comes next. Taste explodes on the tongue, orange peel, Bourbon notes, sweet malt, butterscotch. More woody Bourbon notes waft up on the finish, kind of boozy, gentle warmth. This is really well crafted, and the barrel aging dances cheek to cheek with the lovely IIPA. Damn near perfect. Pretty good example of the style, but it’s really starting to hit home just how horrible the IIPA style is. I mean, at first it was cool to have beers that were hopped beyond belief, but all those hops, with all that booze and heavy body. As Moxie is to soda, IIPA is to beer. So anyway, a big snoot full of citrus and resiny hops at the nose, flavor chewy with the resiny hops, heavy bready/caramel malts, quite bitter at finish but the malts are strong enough to give it balance, if you call a beer this big balanced, which it isn’t, really. sinfull (1655) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUL 17, 2017
Amber color. Big , white head . Aroma of caramel malt , wood and hint of pine. Balanced taste with notes of oak , vanilla and molasses. Warming finish. Well hidden alcohol.

It pours clear copper with a white head. The aroma has caramel, wood, must, rich malt and some tropical hops. Medium full body with semi sharp carbonation. The taste has a good bit of alcohol, wood, big rich toasted malt, woody barrel and some bright his on the back. While hops are minor in the initial taste there is a lingering pine, earthy and zesty resin that sticks of the tongue. Pretty good sjogro (4136) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUL 16, 2017
Sampled from bottle at Floris’s leaving tasting. Clear dark golden with white head. Massive sweet and moderate bitter. Big bourbon, vanilla, grain, fruity, oranges. Full body, soft carbonation. Strong and nice.
