COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s not always a good thing when your reputation precedes you. But the complexity of this powerful wheat wine will give it a Sweet Repute no matter where, when or how your paths meet. Our brewing team painstakingly choreographed each layer of this beer’s characteristics, starting with a healthy wheat and roasted malt base and adding clean, fragrant hops. It’s one-hundred percent barrel aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and bourbon barrels over the course of sixteen months, then blended using carefully calculated ratios for the ultimate final product. The resulting 12.6% ABV liquid pours a bright warm russet with a stubborn ivory head and an intoxicatingly sweet nutty aroma. Take your time allowing the layers of flavors to unfold… Because it’ll only get better.

Bomber. Clear amber orange pour with a soapy white head. Rich sweet caramel, plum, candi sugar. Smooth pretty dense palate. Nice.

Draft. Orange malt aroma. Murky amber with small head. Sweet orange-caramel malt and moderately bitter alcohol/herbal flavor. Pleasant - ABV well hidden.

Surprising tap at The Fickle Peach, at least this was served in a snifter and looked very pretty... however I will keep this short and sweet (get it)... way too sweet and way too boozy. An utter maple overblown mess and it took me over a hour to finish the 8 ounce snifter. Well at least I know not to track down a bottle.

Bottle from Westmeister! Thanks brother! Light copper orange. Nose is maple syrup, sweet malts, light toffee, vanilla, and bourbon. Flavors of wheat, biscuit, light orange citrus. Hot. Finishes with a slight astringency as it warms that I have come to find in beers with maple syrup, but over all very sweet, and a sipper to split with a friend or two. Will revisit in a year or so.

750 mL bottle. Pours a clear golden amber color with a thin fizzy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of wheat, caramel, butterscotch, bourbon, wood. The taste is caramel, wheat, bourbon, wood, mild hops and butterscotch. Medium bodied, low carbonation, strong alcohol heat. Nice sipper.

maekchu (4069) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 11, 2014
Draught at The Happy Gnome. Honey, thick caramel, and fumes. Hazy golden amber color. Initial has really thick caramel, concentrated and super sweet / maple emerges in mid, long with considerable alc. warmth / reaches a sort of balance in finish, though the tongue is probably burned and shocked by that point. Heavy body, a bit sticky. The maple is not overwhelming and the wheat keeps it lighter than most beers of this strength.

Shared at Hunahpu ’14. Brown pour. Aroma was sugary and woody. Tastes were big and sweet -- toffee, caramel, cereal. Bit boozy. Too much brown sugar for my tastes. 6.6

Fresh bottle. Pours honey gold with nice head. Aroma is alcohol, hay. Taste is boozy...lots of bourbon notes with the maple syrup kicker. Not as sweet as I expected. The wheat characteristics give it nice balance and character. I’m a fan.

sweet smelling and nice color but has some sediment. Beer is sweet and fruity with maple syrup upfront and a bit boozy but enjoyable. If finishes well with these flavors melding and a little bitter finish.

On tap at the 2014 Secret Stash Bash (Atlanta).

Medium amber with a durable off-white head.

Fruity, hoppy, bourbon barrel aroma with pretty good balance. Boozy.

Flavor is also rather boozy, and sweet. Made a great first impression but then became less enticing.

O: a bit strong and boozy, but given this, nicely crafted.
