Dark reddish-brownish in color with a dense tan head. Scents of vanilla and oak wood. Instant excitement on the palate with Carmel sweetness followed by a scotch whiskey bite. As the flavors marinate you get the perfect balance of oak and vanilla. Well done brew indeed!

It was hard to give my first five, but I can find no fault with this masterpiece. It is worth the price just to smell this. Make sure you drink this room temp, because it can have a medicinal sharpness when cold. Smoother than margerine on a muffin, with full but not thick mouthfeel. Oak, butterscotch, cinnamon, bourbon, toffee, caramel...wow. Badass and articulate at the same time. This is the scotch ale all others wish they could be.

Sweet caramel, roasty malts, and bourbon aroma. Thin tan head and dark red body. Sweet warm carmel and bourbon flavors with a peaty malt. Smooth and a little alc heat on the palate.

Malty bourbon oaky smell that is enough for two beers in 12oz bottle. Tiny slight head of soft beige bubbles that belie a fair amount of carbonation; greater retention with warming Deep peaty malt chocolate carmel cake dipped in a bourbon barrel with a cherry on top. YUUUmmm. Good thing I hate cake, pass the BB please.

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby brown with a beige head. Caramel and bourbon on the nose. Very flavorful with brown sugar, caramel, butterscotch, and a bourbon finish. Smooth and complex - an excellent brew for slow sipping!

Sip and enjoy you Founders lovin bastards because this brew has character. Full, sweet, and full of barrel aged Scotch love. Not for kids, when Bam Bam grew up he drank this. I suggest pairing this beer with Sling Blade. 5 stars, I reckon.... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From 12oz Bottle. Pours deep orange brown with a thin tan head. Smells of carmel, cinnamon, raisins and dates. Lightly carbonated with a slick mouthfeel. Taste is carmel sweet with bourbon overtones balancing some orange peel bitterness. The finish has bourbon and the lingering flavors of dark fruit, carmel and toffee balanced be a slight hoppiness. This is a very complex scotch ale with lots if evolving flavors as it sits in your palate. The bourbon barrel aging is done perfectly. One of the best scotch ales I have had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured into a Founders pint glass a gorgeous deep burgundy brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet bourbon caramel. Flavor of bourbon just flat assaults you with a sweet vanilla caramel cherry finish. Balanced of roasted malt lts is excellent. A well done wee heavy although the bourbon booziness is slightly over the top for me. Always love getting a 4 pack each year. Consume a couple & lay a couple down is the way to play.

2013 bottle. Pours a bit darker than the regular (Dirty Bastard), blackish ruby red. Thin to no head. Sweet bourbon aroma, maybe a little smoke, cherries and slight alcohol. Taste is outstanding. Vanilla, caramel, mild bourbon and cherries, dark fruits. The bourbon is not overpowering. I was never a huge fan of Dirty Bastard, but the addition of infused bourbon really does wonders, great beer. I like this beer much better than KBS. Glad I was able to try it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
