"Big and delicious for your perty mouth." Founders more or less sums this beer up in seven words. Year after year this a favorite. This is my last bottle this year, oh so sad. Big oaky bourbon, vanilla nose. Let this one warm up, if you didnt already know. Enjoying with my two best friends, 2 pit bulls!! Poured from a bottle. She changes personalities as she warms up. Bourbon up front, vanilla and oak. Caramel notes, but a well balanced sweetness. For such a big beer its relatively medium bodied. Several months ago I was privileged enough to be at a party with a keg of this, its very possible to enjoy several of these. This is one of the best beers out there. No matter what style beer you enjoy try this!!

Awesome brew on tap at Kellehers. Part of their barrel aged event, like an arrogant on a trip! Sweeter, more body and a great palate after taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the minute you crack the cap off, this beer has it all going on. The taste of caramel, vanilla, and bourbon are a wonderful mix. The golden color is appealing. The overall taste, appearance, and aroma make this bourbon barrel brew one of the best. Perfect for chilling in your favorite chair watching your favorite ice hockey team.

Thanks, Time4lunch! Aroma is big oak and bourbon, some caramel, cherries, light earthiness, and a hint of nuts. Pours a swamp water brown without much of a head. Taste is big bourbon, some earthy qualities, more caramel and light traces of fruits. Very cool brew!

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 The nose on this one was pretty impressive. Lots of vanilla, sweet bourbon, honey and cherries among caramel and light hops. The taste was not as sweet, but rather full of caramel, hops and oak with a satisfying hop character for the finish. The alcohol was very well hidden and... wow was this good shit. Thanks OmegaX!

Bottle - Reddish brown pour. Brown sugar aroma, roasted nuts, toffee, some barrel-rather nice kind of sherry note, spiced bourbon, vanilla. Swirl brings out leather. Taste - Like a fruit and chocolate bomb. Thick caramel sweetness. Chewy, thick mouthfeel. Begins with a nice bitterness then becomes sweet and sticky. 10.2abv. Thats got to be a mistake..?

330 mL bottle, served in a snifter at a tasting at Chris place. Pours clear mahogany with a minimal head that fades and leaves a small amount of lace. On the nose, there are notes of toasted malts, oak, bourbon, chocolate, smoke and touches of earth and coconut. The flavour is moderately sweet, with roasty malts, bourbon, cherries, oak and vanilla. The finish is long and infused with bourbon and oak. On the palate, it is medium-full in body with a smooth, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a great Scotch ale with an amazing bourbon oak character. Complex and harmonious, very well brewed. 2012-11-23

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2015 Rereate again: 4,2 On draft in Illinois. Lots of wood and vanilla. Good mouthfeel. Rerate draft: 3.9 Very thin head. Palate is not thick enough. Disappointing on palate. Overall I would reach for an oskar blues. 4.0 Nice Carmel malt aroma. Appearance is thin. Head falls away. Nice carmel oak bourbon aroma. Nice and sweet, with a hint of vanilla and Carmel and bourbon, very complex very nice. Just maybe a tad to sweet, but if you are ready for Carmel charm greatness... imagine a carmel sunday with bourbon... top notch.
