Big and delicious for your perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. Its a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Fresh 2012 bottle. It was bottled just a few weeks ago. Smells a little boozy and bourbony, tastes smoother than smooth. A caramel, butterscotch vanilla mixture really makes it pop. For 10.5, its really smooth too. Cant wait to age a few bottles.

Bottle from Binnys (thanks Alex!). A good election night beer. Pours a deep copper-brown, almost no head to speak of (could be the glass though) Nose is whiskey, toffee and dried figs. Mouth is big and bad (good bad!).. creamy, toffee and raisins up front with booze lasting throughout. Finishes with a lingering bittersweetness. Ill be honest, I dont relaly like Scotch-style ales (especially after over-doing it a few years back with about 6-too-many Robert The Bruce), but this might make my top-5. Im a sucker for barrel-aged anything, and this one is no exception... George Jones could write a song about it.

Deep brownish red in color with a very thin whispy tan head, light spotting. Sweet nose, dark fruit, vanilla, dark malts, raisin, bourbon. Pretty boozy in flavor, sweet dark fruit, malty backbone with a big boozy finish, a little chocolate in there too. Silky feel and medium carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2014 Tap. Pours hazy ruby with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is molasses, cognac, resin, wood. Flavor is the same, quite sweet and minimally bitter. Strong alcoholic warming finish. Full bodied and creamy. Retry in bottles; more of cloudy hazel, head dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is fairly light, but nice. Flavor is medium sweet, a little bit boozy, but pleasant mix of bourbon and dark sugars, with oak mixed in.

Nice oak scents and some sweet malt, can also smell some alcohol. Taste is similar with some oak and nice hop character.
