Bourbony. Wood. Oak. Light caramel brown color. Hot. Licorice? Caramel. Not my kind of thing but if you like barrels give this a go.

Rich caramel and super smooth bourbon and oak aromas and flavors. Definitely an enjoyable supper by the fire on the chillier nights. Founders best beer beside their breakfast stout.

355ml bottle. Dark ruby thin white head. Aroma has black currant, toffee and alcohol. Taste has more toffee with whisky. Very well balanced and awesome beer indeed.

A very dark brown beer with notes of red. A head is quite small and beige. Aroma has riped and rich fruitness with raisins and dates, some dark breadyness, less barrel, bourbon and chocolate. Taste has riped and dried fruitness, raisins, richness of malts, nice vanilla, some chocolate and strenght of bourbon in the end. Almost full bodied, not stickyness, nice and easy to drink. Complex and at the same time also balanced, just so greatly as the Founders can do it. The great and powerful beer.

Bottle in Seattle. Thanks to Chris! Sorry/happy to say that we can get this in Seattle as of yesterday. Thin, dissipating ring head. Darkest malty amber, dark brown. Gorgeous red depths. Deep roasty nose, plenty of sweet barrel too. Smooth weight. Bourbon-scotch richness. Lovely depths of flavor. Vanilla edge, raisins, strong cookies, lovely flavor. A small burn from the alcohol. Smooth and tasty. Nice beer.

A 355ml bottle with a best by date of 6th April 2017. Poured into a snifter glass. It poured a clear deep amber brown colour with a one finger tanned head that had decent retention and left nice spotty lacing. Aromas of caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, bourbon and booze with perhaps a hint of sweet dark fruit. Taste is what you expect from the aroma with sweet melted caramel, toffee, vanilla, raisins, oak and bourbon with a light nuttiness on the finish. Creamy, full bodied with low carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden yet there is a nice lasting alcohol warmth. Overall, just great! A really nice sipper with wonderful aromas and great taste.

Big flavors of scotch and bourbon with an oak sweetness. Roasty and a hint of dark fruit tartness. Nice dark caramel color. Aromas were molasses and booze. Weighty and smooth.

Pours a clear light brown. Nosebis very smoky - can get the alcohol on the smell. Taste is really boozy - some bourbon, and it has a chewiness to it. It's good - but I cannot seeing having more than one in a sitting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Not my style of beer, but interesting. Pours with a thin head, a dark caramel with a bit of haze. Intense aromas of caramel, chocolate, coffee, licorice and soy sauce. On the palate smooth and round- big, unctuous and fat. Mouth filling. Alcoholic for sure. Although aged in bourbon barrels, I am failing to find the oak/bourbon axis here although with a stretch I get a little smoke on the nose.
