Poured from a 341 cc bottle. Pours medium-dark brown. Off-white head that fades quickly leaving nice lace. Aroma is gorgeous oaky bourbon and sweet malts with notes of vanilla, citrus, and spice. Flavour is bourbon-forward with sweet malt and well balanced hops spiking towards the finish. Beautiful aftertaste. The bourbon barrel aging takes an already great Scotch Ale to the next level.

Draft pour at Hop and Hound. Pretty stoked to find this on draft. A dark copper pour. Rich caramel and soft whiskey aroma. Flavor is an absolutely delicious blend of vanilla, caramel, oak, and whiskey. Not too sweet. Bold, but not too strong. A warming feel, without an overly boozy feel. Excellent barrel treatment on this scotch ale. I opted for 6 oz of this here on draft, but I could sip on this all day. Love the flavor of this beer. Very impressed, and not surprised.

Bottle into tulip. Dark hazy mahogany w tan head that does not hang around. Heady aroma of vanilla, Creme brûlée and alcohol. Similar taste w hints of bourbon and oaked creaminess. A touch of sweetness but not cloying. A tasty after dinner sipper. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Klar, mörkt röd med lite brunt, tätt ljus brunt orange skum. Doft: Sprit, malt, trä, lite madeira, vanilj, whiskykola, gräddkola, jäst frukt. Smak: Som doft. Undviker man att stoppa näsan alltför långt ner i glaset undviker man alkohol doften. I smaken är den med men tar inte över, med 11% är det svårt att undvika det. Lagom med en flaska till två personer.

Very barrel-aged type flavor, a lot of wood and vanilla, a pretty heavy ale that'd be best in a small qty, creamy, alco presence not over the top for the abv

2017 edition, poured from 12 oz bottle. Pours mahogany with thick, dense head that lingers. Amoma is scotch, bourbon and caramel, in that order. Taste is rich caramel and roast which gives way to sweet bourbon. Finish is very warm bourbon. A wonderful scotch ale that is worth waiting for every year.

Pours a dark amber, with a nice cream head. Aroma of wood and whiskey. Taste is rich and malty, with good presence of oak and bourbon. This is a really nice scotch type ale, aged in oak bourbon barrels. Thumbs way up.

Wanilia, karmel, toffi, drewno, rodzynki, szlachetny alkohol. Średnie ciało, półsłodkie. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego, średnia goryczka - ciut alkoholowa. Dość mocno taniczne, ściągające, drewniane. Bez wątpienia duża klasa.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2017 Bourbon on the nose. Taste follows the nose with bourbon, oak, followed by vanilla and slight bitterness. Silky smooth the quintessential bourbon barrel scotch ale.
