An opaque black beer with a medium brown head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is dominated by wonderful coffee backed with a little smoky chocolate and alcohol. The flavor again showcases coffee with cocoa and oats and a nice bittersweet finish. A truly delicious beer with no real flaws, and the kind of experience that makes the hunt worthwhile. I actually had to keep drinking it to assure myself I wasnt imagining it being this good.

An absolutely fantastic brew. The only one worthy of a perfect rating so far. The aroma is full of quality coffee and some chocolate. The beer is deep brown to black almost opaque with a tan head. The taste is full of the best coffee and good chocolate. Smooth and clean with a thick presence. Epiphanic.

Smell is strong coffee and dark chocolate, underscored by a healthy dose of roastiness. Pours very dark with a small light tan head with little retention and little to no lacing. Tastes of wonderfully complex yet perfectly balanced chocolates, coffees, roast, bitterness and sweetness. Medium-thick palate and medium carbonation. I love the hell out of this beer. Its terrifically complex yet so perfectly balanced between so many different elements it blows my mind. Definitely my favorite stout, maybe even my favorite been overall.

Pours pitch black with very faint fizz. Smells phenomenal: strong chocolate and coffee notes pour out of the glass. Taste follows the nose perfectly, strong chocolate, both bitter and sweet, and coffee flavors abound from this spectacular brew. Full-bodied with a smooth, velvety texture and no mouth-carbonation, Founders Breakfast Stout finishes like a slice of heaven.

Most beers by Founders are high quality. The Breakfast stout is yet another. You hear the hype and then you taste it. You understand why people say this is such a high quality breakfast stout. One of those beers you have to try. And once youve you try it you will want it anytime you can grab some.

I chose to use a Sam Adams Pint Glass for this brew. Appearance: This beer pours dark as coal. There is no light getting through on this one. Very little head, unless you pour the beer from a slightly raised height, which dissipates quickly. Aroma: Outstanding roasted expresso coffee aroma. This is a beer youll want to breathe in, as I did, with each and every sip. T: Tastes just like it smells. An initial roasted expresso coffee bitterness, that gently fades to a smooth, light chocolate-malty finish. This definitely tasted better as it warmed up in the glass. Palate: Very little carbonation with a thicker, creamy backbone. Smoooth... Overall: This is a "sipper" for sure. I can only have two or three in one sitting with the higher ABV. After having one, you will be spoiled and want another. In my top 10 beers of all time!!!

Amazing! The coffee is strong in this brew, but it's very well balanced. Great all around taste profile and a fantastic all around beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
