COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout brewed with Chocolate and Coffee, aged in Maple Syrup-Bourbon Barrels.

CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

Backstage Series #2: 10.6% ABV
Barrel-Aged Series (2017): 11.7% ABV

Black with a dark beige head. Sweet roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, maple, a bit of coffee, light oak, bourbon, cream, faint smoke. Full bodied. Finish has more of the smoke, but mostly sweet and roasted malts. Some of the touches start a bit subtle but grow in strength as it goes. Lovely.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2018 Cool beer. Smells like a stout, roasted malt with coffee and chocolate, but has a little sweetness to the smell. On taste, the maple syrup comes through both in taste and on palate. Bourbon is pretty mild as the booziness is almost non existent.

OMG grab a spoon to consume this beer. Packed to the rafters with chocolate that makes its presence felt from the first waft of the potent aroma. Coffee is front and centre competing on the dense cluggy palate with the chocolate and vanilla. Some sweet maple comes along to join the party/ riot on your late in the piece, and the epic afterburner glow of bourbon and strong alcohol finish the party in the mouth off. One word of caution. Save this beer till last. And pass on the chocolate mousse. This is far far better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

355 ml bottle, 2017 vintage, from Boxbeers. Thanks to PowY!
Very dark brown body, with a smaller, creamy, dark beige head.
Amazing, dense aroma of chocolate, maple syrup, bourbon, cocoa, vanilla, soy sauce, coffee, dark fruits, some tobacco.
Tastes delicious, with similar aromas, very creamy and smooth to drink.
Full, oily mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes smooth, moderate roasty, medium sweet, a bit dry, a bit wooden, slightly boozy, with maple syrup, dark chocolate, moderate bourbon, soy sauce, some vanilla, slight coffee.

Amazing! The balance is really exciting, everything is perfectly dosed, no matter if the bourbon barrel, the maple syrup, the chocolate, or the coffee. Drinks incredibly smooth for the ABV. Outstanding, creamy, dense sipper, one of the most accomplished barrel aged Imperial Stouts I've ever had.
