COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Stout brewed with Chocolate and Coffee, aged in Maple Syrup-Bourbon Barrels.

CBS was born when we stumbled upon some bourbon barrels that had previously housed maple syrup. We opted to put the same base beer as KBS, an imperialized version of Breakfast Stout, in the maple barrels and, after one taste, we knew we had something special. Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.

In short: cocoa vanilla IStout.
Did I enjoy it: yes.
Pours black with nice tan head. Moderate head retention, some irregular lacing. Cocoa, sirupy, wood, roasty nose. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, viscous texture. Taste is roasty, vanilla, cocoa, somw wood notes, some sweet bourbon. Quite smooth and well balanced, very enjoyable.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2018 On tap at First Street Alehouse Livermore. Pours super black with very nice lacing. Smells like the best breakfast place ever with coffee and syrupy waffles. Rich and boozy with a nice coffee finish but not too sweet.

Aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, almonds, maple syrup, cocoa, some coconut notes and loads of barrel. Tastes full of maple syrup, milk chocolate, some coffee acidity, vanilla, coconut, raisins, bourbon notes. Ends with some really nice espresso-like bitterness and leaves cocoa aftertaste. Low carbonation with smooth, oily texture and throat warming alcohol

Bottle from systembolaget. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, alcohol and chocolate. Very sweet at first, balanced as it gets warmer. Taste of coffee, milk chocolate, maple syrup, bourbon and licorice. Happy that I bought three bottles.

Flaska beställd från SB. Svart med ljusbrunt skum. Doft av kaffesump med touch av choklad. Söt och mastig smak som domineras av choklad och kola med backup av kaffe.

A 12 fl. oz. bottle, bottled on 27th October 2017. Poured into a snifter. It poured black in colour with a one finger fluffy brown head that had decent retention while leaving some spotty lacing. Aromas of sweetish milk chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and coffee bean with hints of oak, maple and caramel. Tastes of sweet bourbon and maple upfront with roasty coffee, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. There is light booziness on the finish. Full to medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall this was an excellent sipper. There was perhaps less maple than I expected, but still just enough to make an impression with the nice bourbon flavours.

W smaku bardzo duzo syropu klonowego, wanilii, mlecznej czekolady, troszke migdalow i arabica. W posmaku espresso arabica doslodzona syropem klonowym gesto splywajacym po gardle. Wysycenie niskie, alkohol bardzo ukryty i szlachetny, cialo zdecydowanie degustacyjne. Team slodyczka i genialny aromatyczny ris. Nalezy sie zdecydowanie miejsce w top 20.

W smaku słodkie, praliny, syrop klonowy, delikatnie kwaśna kawa, goryczka delikatna od paloności. Na finiszu czekolada deserowa, słodziutki syrop klonowy, lekka przyjemna kawa. Wysycenie raczej niskie, alkohol bardzo dobrze ukryty, ciało duże, gęste, gładkie, degustacyjne.
