Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with orange glints and a tan smear. Aroma is sort of maple bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate/maple/bourbon/earthy/ smooth burnt malt. Sort of dusty - dryer than expected.Smooth, tasty, chocolate bourbon finish. Delectable. Dodgrblu (746) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 27, 2016

On draft at Global Brew EDW. This was out several years ago and I missed it then. So glad to get to have it now. Looks like a big stout. So much goodness going on here. Huge maple, monster roastiness, massive dark malts. Delicious. My only turn off is the alcohol. It is not hidden and is kind of in your face. Still, this is a really good beer. Glad I got to try it. Thanks for putting this out again. gregwilsonstl (2467) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 5, 2016
8 oz pour. Holy wow! Dark black. Maple heaven...and i love maple. Sticky. Coffee. Pretty perfect. Start making more!! Best thing to come out of canada since John Candy. Not boozy, just totally drinkable. Im going to put maple in my coffee tomorrow. This totally lives up to hype. I find heaven and i can only have one because i need to drive home. ...reminds me of twilight zone episode where all guy wants to do is read and he steps on his glasses. .

8oz pour- great lacing smell is of the maple at the end of the great Java and malty goodness. Same with the taste except less maple in the taste. There’s a reason this is so sought after. popway (206) - California, USA - JAN 28, 2016

Draught at Harry’s Hofbrau. Rich, rich, rich aroma and flavor. Smooth complexity of booze and subtle chocolate. onceblind (9442) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 18, 2016
Aged 5 years. Black pour with a thin light tan head. Big aromas of maple, oak barrel, char, tobacco, coffee. Amazing flavor wth chocolate, maple, oaked bourbon, coffee, more maple and barrel, some bourbon, more chocolate, a wee touch of licorice, and a little touch of tobacco. Amazing as heck. spycow (21) - Illinois, USA - DEC 26, 2015
Canadian breakfast stout is another excellent example of how maple, coffee and bourbon barrel mixed together contributes to a fabulous barrel aged example. The notes of maple are strong but not over powering and the hint of chocolate, coffee and tobacco round out the balance. Hits your palate not too hot and not over powering as the 10.6% is well hidden. Another example of great bourbon based stouts. A must try, Cheers!
