4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
GABF and Yazoo Sue Fortuitous release. Pours deep brown with a chocolate brown head. Aroma of dark roasted malts and smoke. Full bodied with a slick texture. Flavor of dark roasted malts, unsweetened dark chocolate, maple, and smoke -counted by a spicy bitterness. Very complex and balanced beer as far as flavors go. Worthy of the hype if you ask me
35,5cl bottle at Gyhallmanti’s, bought at Hopt.nl. Appearance: pitchblack with medium, beige head. Aroma: coffee, coffeegrounds, maple syrup, dark chocolate, roasted malts and a hint of pancakes. Taste: high sweetness and high bitterness. Notes of coffee, maple syrup, chocolate and toffee. Palate: medium to full bodied, sticky texture and medium carbonation. Perfect balance. No bourbon character left, but still an incredible beer! gyhallmanti (807) - Groningen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 20, 2018

35 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, and maple - with a slightly sweet finish. I think I prefer the KBS. miniash (43) - - JAN 19, 2018
Keg at Euston Tap, black bodied with a thin beige head. Treacle and molasses fill the palate then immediately followed by a rush of booze! This one is pretty special!

Bottle. Nose of coffee (rich, but also a bit scorched), sweet maple syrup (mild), and alcohol fumes. Dark brown wit translucent edges. Coffee, sweet syrupy bit (possibly maple), chocolate, Heavy body and oily. Rich and super sweet -- maybe too much so. Definitely a nice barrel-aged stout, but probably shouldn't be in the top 50 Imperial Stout group. Certainly not as good as KBS.

From Hopt.es. In Teku glass. Playing Super Furball. Very smooth but I prefer KBS. This hasnt the excellent coffee touch and instead it has bourbon notes that becomes fairly strong as warms up, more than I like. 2017 version Gbgbrouge (379) - SWEDEN - JAN 18, 2018
From Bottle. Aroma is subtly complex with notes of coffe and chocolate, slight traces of liquorice and molasses. Taste is sweet but not overly so. The body is heavy and the barrel ageing lends a great weight to the onslaught of taste with notes of chocolate, syrup, vanilla and fudge with a subtle but clear coffee note. The finish is a delightful bittersweet that goes on for ages. This is one of the best stouts I have ever had! jbruner (5466) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 17, 2018
Pours an opaque black from the bottle with thick tan brown head that dissipates to leave wispy foam and light lace. Aroma of sweet molasses, hints of maple and vanilla, and light roasty chocolate. Taste follows, sweet and slightly roasty, with some booze and barrel on the back end. Thick but not too crazy viscous, more creamy sweet, but roasted bitterness keeps it from being over the top. Damn fine, not sure its as great as the hype, but glad I got to try it, thanks Cybercat! thomat (4209) - Gteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 17, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2018 On tap @ BBB. Very dark brown with a tiny brown head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, coffee, fruit, vanilla, wood and hops. Full body with a long bitter fruity finish. mrjez (713) - Osaka, JAPAN - JAN 17, 2018
2017 bottle. Pours black with no head, just a tan ring. Lovely melded aroma of coffee, chocolate, and bourbon, just a hint of maple. Similar notes in the flavour, rich burnt malts, dark bitter chocolate, bourbon sweet. Maple doesn’t leap out but adds another layer of sweetness. The KBS base dries out the mouth well, countering this. The ride over the palate is velvety smooth, plenty of throat warmth. Overall a great beer, but it’s taken some of the edge off KBS which I prefer.
