Pine / citrus aroma, grapefruit. Light copper-colored, very slight haze. Small dense off-white head w/ decent retention. Lots of carbonation. Some oily lacing. Tastes like it smells: Flowers, citrus fruit, pine. Velvety mouthfeel, medium body. Fruity / dry finish. Founders does it again!

Pours orange/yellow with little to no head. Decent lacing with a crazy amount of carbonation. Aroma is of oranges, pine, flowers, citrus... all in all pretty normal for an IPA. Taste is strong on the citrus and leads into a dominant hoppy finish. Very good representation of an IPA.

Pours a golden orange. Nice taste with a good mix of floral and hops. What an IPA should taste like. 12 oz. bottle

Pretty much everything an IPA should be and nothing that it should not be. Unremarkably good and unremarkably bad. As anybody who has partaken of mediocre beer masquerading under the "craft brewed" headline knows, though, theres really something to be said for that.

pilsnerrogge (2868) - Finspng, SWEDEN - APR 28, 2010
Bottled:
Pours hazy amber/orange with a dense head. Nose is orange peels and hops. Flavour is all about piney, resiny hops. Long, somewhat sharp bitterness.

As usual, Founders is not the mainstream of brewing. Pungent, viscous, piney, citrusey, sweet, and malty are how I would summarize this delectable brew. This is the second time Ive tried this and Ill have to say its better this time. With one of the best finishes Ive tasted, I can see why this is one of the benchmmark brews used for judging IPAs. Thanks to Brian at True Vine!

Bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy amber, medium head. Very potent citrus aroma with hints of bread. Very bitter, tons of citrussy hops (well, maybe exaggerating a bit). Could probably be critized for being one-dimensional, but who cares. An IPA that makes it point.

This is a perfect example of an American IPA. Excellent hop flavor, with a crisp, citrusy flavor. Despite the bitterness, it is still highly drinkable.

Just another standard IPA, but this one has a good bit of alcohol in it. Would be worth the six-pack if you find one.

Crystal clear red-orange color, rocky head of mixed bubbles which leaves behind little spotches of lace. Really nice nose w/ a very bright pine and floral character. Slightly sweet, w/ a slight iced-tea like astringency. Medium bodied w/ medium carbonation. Possibly just a touch on the watery side for its gravity but its not like this is flavorless. Finishes w/ a clean bitterness and some very nice lingering floral notes.
