Bottle->tulip: Pours a white, rocky head that exhibits some lacing atop a cloudy amber body. Good carbonation; hoppy floral aroma. Thin body, sticky mouthfeel, ending very astringently. Flavors duration is medium.

Clear amber with a medium off white head. Somewhat sweet aroma with peach, plenty of centenial hops, pine and lemons. Flavour had toasted malt, plenty of hops caramel, pine, peaches, lemons, pine and grapefruity notes. Finished dry and bitter. Nice one.

Bottle, bought @ Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam.
Pours a lovely clear amber with a fine, medium, staying, creamy, off-white head. Very lovely hoppy aroma. Big pine, flowers, grass and heather. Some fruity apricot notes as well. Quite low carbonation, garnering a fine, dry and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is elegantly hoppy. Not over the top in any way. Piney again, grassy, dry, light perfume. A fair malty balance that never interferes with the hops. This is a very good IPA, but at 7,2 % it is a bit on the steep side in alcohol.

I bought a couple bottles online just to see what these Midwest IPAs are like. The color was dark orange (almost brown) with a very nice head. there was a slight citrus component to the smell. The taste seemed very balanced between malt and hop. I was kinda expecting a hop-bomb but this was still a very solid IPA. The website touted it as "the rich mans Two-Hearted" and I did enjoy it more than the two-hearted I drank just prior. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-04-2007 16:01:33

Sweet fruity, light peachy and light caramelish sweet flavoured. Dry and bitter towards the end with a mild grassy touch. Vague soapy note. Rather dry and bitter finish.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2010 15-JAN-2010, bottle @home, from "Fish & Beer". Pours orange with fine white head. The nose is - IPA, well not just any IPA. This is fantastic. Very bitter, grape fruits, oranges, pineapples, but also some slightly roasted notes from the malt. A little thin on the palate, but otherwise almost IIPA-like wiht the heavy malt presence to balance the immense hop amount. Very long, very bitter aftertaste with a fine medium carbonation. Certainly one of the best IPAs I have ever had. Never had a boring Founders. They are not like some of the other breweries that just try to make stronger beers, they always give the style an edge. Thank you, Founders:)
