Pours an amber orange haze, somewhat lively. Medium head breaks down to a thin head, with lacing. Has a citrus-hoppy aroma, with some subtle pine. Bitter and biting taste. A bolder IPA, not the creamier variety. Sweet on the front and bitter on the back, hits close together, decent balance. Bitter aftertaste. A good IPA, but not a special one.

Poured from a tap at Founders. Clear, copper colored with nice lacing. Orange-citrus hops aroma with a very mild note of malt. Lively carbonation refreshing, with a lasting dry-hop bitterness. Overall it’s a good IPA. I enjoy the orange-citrus aromas, but I wish it was a little more balanced.

12 oz bottle. great looking deep copper color. Smooth floral taste upfront with orange zest and caramel finish. A flavorful IPA with the ABV well hidden.

cmillward (497) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 3, 2010
Pours gold with a bit of lacing on the glass. Nose is orange and floral hops, some caramel and toffee malt backbone. Flavor slightly fruity, orange hops, light caramel and toffee malt backbone whose sweetness is cut with nice piney bitter finish. Very solid, very drinkable, though I think the over 7% abv could catch up fast.

Slightly cloudy amber colour with a small off-white head. Sweet fruity and resiny hops, toffee sweetness, moderate bitterness and sweet caramel maltiness in the aroma. The flavour is fruity and resiny hops, moderate bitterness, grainy maltiness, toffee and caramel malt sweetness and some alcohol notes. Very tasty American IPA.

NOT IMPRESSED!! All the hype and talk about this beer and I was disappointed. Not that it’s a horrible beer but not worthy of the ratings I’ve seen.I’m a HUGE IPA fan and this beer lacked all I love in an IPA.Not very hoppy and almost had a strange soapy bitterness at the end.The Double Trouble by Founders was solid but this beer...not for me.You could have told me this was Bud’s new IPA or MILLER’S and I’d have believed you.Sorry Founders this one is a miss for me.

Founders is a pretty solid brewer. This is a nice IPA, though I might like the RYE P.A. better. Nice hop flavor with citrus aftertaste.
