I was hoping for better here. Nice aroma but flavor doesn’t live up. I guess I’m used to a little more kick in an IPA. I’m a big Founders fan but I probably won’t reach for this one over a Celebration, Two Hearted,Moylans, or Torpedo.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep hazy orange with a thick white frothy head. Smell is floral and piny hops with sweet malt and hint of honey as well. Flavor is sweet malt up front with floral hops rounding out a lasting bitter finish. Nice medium body. Solid IPA. BroSpud (2282) - , Massachusetts, USA - MAR 31, 2009
12oz screwtop. These guys brew a good beer and this is an excellent example of an IPA. Nothing over the top but just a perfect combination of flavors and hops. TeamTrappist (832) - jericho, New York, USA - MAR 30, 2009
12 oz bottle, which poured a cloudy dark amber with a thin head. Nice and strong hoppy nose, with hints of sweetness to it. I found this very well balanced with a nice malt base to it. Hops have some sweetness to it, and the hop flavor is very long lasting. Finish is mildly bitter. Very nice. tekhna (118) - California, USA - MAR 30, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2009 Simply a fantastic aroma, very nice malt backing, and a nice hop bill. All centennial, and I think, if I had to choose, between an all centennial beer, it’d now be a hard choice between this and two hearted. This is a darker, more conventionally hoppy IPA, but that’s not always a bad thing when it’s perfection, is it?

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2010 tap at fiddlers hearth. Had a couple imperial pints- hit the spot! Pours a dark amber with a small creamy offwhite head. aroma of grapefruit, pine, caramel. Nice bitter hop bite to it. More grapefruit, some orange, with a nice caramel backing to it. Great balance. A classic IPA. EHopper (620) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 28, 2009
Great aroma. Simply explodes with grapefruit and pine. Well matched flavor that brings a lot of citrus hops into a light malt base. Love the long, dry but bright finish. A good one to keep on hand. barncatmatt (2355) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 23, 2009
12 oz bottle from a trade with thecheeseman. pours hazy orange with a midsized off white head. perfect IPA appearance. i love when brewers dont filter an IPA and the glass is bright and full of orange liquid but you cant see through it. its like looking into a orange fog of hoppiness. the aroma is classic centennial, big citrus, some big malts underneath as well. the flavour starts of quite hoppy again with citrus, the malt hold everything together in the middle and then there is a bitter black tea finish. its full in the mouth but not overly complex. this is an above average IPA. jrmac (335) - South Carolina, USA - MAR 21, 2009
Outstanding thirst quencher. Citrus, floral, and hop aroma give way to a gorgeous full bodied hop experience. Great beer. Blaze312 (132) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAR 19, 2009
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2009 A strong herby aroma. Pours a golden brown. Tastes of citrus and hops. Goes down smooth and refreshing. (12oz, $10/6pk)
