COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Paid $1.39 for a single 12-oz. OK-- weird. Darker than most IPAs, small head, and EXTREMELY hazy. I held this beast up to the light just to see how hazy it was, and it's got all sorts of particles and floaties, and swirls of darker color in there. But then again, the label says unfiltered, so there ya have it. OHHHH that smell. Ahh, so refreshing. Thick citrus (grapefruit)... this is extremely enticing! MMMM, MMM! Damn! That's one helluva taste. Hoppy, grapefruity, luscious. Damn good IPA. Very happy with this purchase... next time I'll get more than a single.

Poured this in my glass and I got about 1 inch of a copper colored brew and about 5 inches of white foam. Fruity nose with the usual citrus suspects but they seemed to have brought some friends like tangerines and kumquats.Light, clean body with a very hoppy flavor that is best described as juicy. This is an excellent IPA.

Dark amber, murky body. Weak, white head. Unremarkable aroma. Bitter, effervescent taste. I have liked other Founders but did not care for this.

On draft at brewpub. Slightly hazy red-amber color with a creamy white head and good lacing. Bold hoppy nose with some balancing sweetness of caramel malts. Malty backbone with plenty of assertive citrus hops to balance. Medium body and well carbonated. Nice brew from the folks at Founders.

Wonderful apple cider look to the beer. Nice odd white head that had a couple of spots that were brown, I suppose from yeast left to ferment in the bottle? Smells quite hoppy, with a citrus coriander smell. The hops definitely is noticeable in the flavor of this beer and seems to coat your tongue. Has some different flavor to it besides the bitterness, pine needles for instance, lemon peel, slight grapefruit but not like Avery IPA. Nice beer but not my favorite of the style.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2004 Bottle-I must be crazy, but this is probably the most under-rated beer i have had to date. This beer has it all-great balance of malt/hops, awesome aroma(very hop devil like), nice body(cool small bubble carbonation, nice cloudy dark orange hue). nice head retention that lasted the entire time till last drop! This brew is more sweet than pine(lemon, orange, pineapple). some green hop notes (fresh hops?) I think this is an excellent first class IPA. whats the deal? BIG thanks goes out to Bunkypop and my secret santafor hooking me up with this awesome brew!!

Nice orange/copper/fog color. Big frothy antique white head. Hoppy smell. Malts are somewhat weak and hops are overdone to my taste but follow PNW India Ale styles. The best beer I've had that comes with a twist-off cap!

Hugely flowery, juicy, citrusy, piney hop aroma, with hints of toasty honeyish malt sweetness. Golden amber color, unfiltered and mostly opaque, some sedimentation. Citrusy and lightly astringent hop flavor, some grapefruit and tangerine, with a nice amount of countering toasty malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is exceedingly creamy and full, with just the right amount of effervescence. Very satisfying.

Hazy amber/orange w/an off white head that keeps pretty well. Strong grapefruit citrus aroma w/a good underlying caramel malt sweetness. There is also a little toasty malt aroma as it warms. Initially malty turns bitter into the finish. Very well balanced w/ caramel malt and bitterness and full of citrusy grapefruit hop flavor. Medium bodied w/a lower level of carbonation, but could use a little more alcohol to be a little more true to Am. IPA style, but a a very good, well made beer. It does have a dry M/F, not quite astringent, but it's puckers a little. I'm not a big fan of IPA's, but this is pretty good.
