nice chocolate scent, dark brown black red body, lots of chocolate that seemed to be rather drying from the use of the rye, chocolate covered cherry rye oak barrel aged... now thats an idea.... thats what i was hoping for with this beer, let down a little.. On tap at Founders. Roasty malt aroma with a twinge of rye. Flavor continues with dry roasted malt but the rye adds a unique spiciness to the flavor, and the beer also has a touch of dark fruit that enhances the roast and rye. Chocolate dark. A little ruby hue. Chocolate aroma. Creamy head. Bitter chocolateness. I didn’t really taste the rye too much, though.
