COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Old Ale conjures up thoughts of classic sea fairing ports, there local pubs and the weathered fisherman that frequent them. In traditional style Curmudgeon is brewed with an intense focus on the malt bill creating a very strong, rich, malty characteristic and a sweetness indicative of its cousin the barleywine. We are especially proud of the balance in this beer making it deceptively smooth and drinkable at 9.8% alcohol by volume.
Editor’s Note - The 2006 bottled version has been aged in bourbon barrels.

If you like whiskey or barley wine, this one is for you! Aged in oak barrels for bourbon, you will feel the taste immediately. High alcohol content, pair it with heavy food dishes, like a steak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rami Rami is drinking a Curmudgeon Old Ale by Founders Brewing Co. at Powiśle 2016. Toffi, ciemne owoce, melasa, slodko, nieco lepkie cialo, ladnie schowane alko. Przeszkadzaja tylko takie cierpko-drewniane posmaki. Z-

355ml Bottle - Dark amber in colour. Caramel, sultanas and vinous notes in the aroma. Rich and fruity taste with raisins, wood, molasses and sultanas.

CraftyHare (90) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - AUG 13, 2017
330ml bottle pours dark amber with fine beige head. Aromas of overripe fruit, toffee, molasses and a little oak. Tastes of stone fruit, caramel malt, nuttiness, butterscotch, roasted malt, molasses, brown sugar, pepper and spices. Long finish with spicy wine-like alcohol burn and a little orange peel bitterness. The 9.8% alc vol sits heavy in this old ale and could be toned down a notch as it overpowers the lovey fruit characters. Otherwise, delicious!

Dark and clean amber color with a creamy sustaining head of light tan foam. Caramel malt base supports light molasses and oak additions. Drinks great at around 55-60 degrees.

2017/07/30 - Pours a hazy dark brown cooper colour with a thick, foamy khaki head that lingers and leaves ample, sticky lacing. Aroma is vanilla, sweet toffee, brown sugar, oak and light alcohol. Taste is sweet toffee, toasted vanilla and oak with sweet booze. Mouthfeel is medium and oily with soft carbonation and a sweet, dry, warming finish. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Franzen (614) - SWEDEN - JUL 29, 2017
Sweet, alcholic, rum-y, fudgy aroma with elements of roasted marshmallows. A bit sweet but with enough balancing bitterness. Roasty finish with lots of roasted marshmallows. The taste needs to develop the finish is as good as the taste.

From Labirratorium. In Teku glass. Playing 12 Labours of Hercules 4 + Little Big Adventure Enhanced. Very alcoholic in both nose and mouth, and the oak aging seems to make it feel even more alcoholic. Bbf Nov 2016. It has been hard to finish
