Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

Poured from bottle a reddy copper with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, strawberry syrup, alcohol and caramel. Something, I’m thinking the alcohol maybe, made my eyes water. Aroma is complex. Taste is hops, floral and citrus with alcohol. I get alcohol all the wAy through and late in the finish some sweetness hits, candy sugar like, before the bitterness hits. Body is fairly thick but slick. Warming. Alcohol heavy for sure but not oft putting for me.

Bottle, 355 ml, courtesy of Max. Shared with him and rest of the crew. Pours dark orange to amber with off-white head. Caramel, malty, moderate hoppy, ripe citrus, pine. Quite sweet with lasting bitterness. This one seemed a bit old and on its way to barley wine land.

Bottle from Purvis Richmond at friend Brian’s place. Pours deep orange small white head. Aroma is pine resin, guava, burnt orange and some dank forest floor. Flavour is massive sweet malt with plenty of pine resin and burnt orange peel. Taste is quite sweet considering the huge hop bitterness. Palate is very silky and full. Overall it is really more a hoppy barley wine. Very nice but really a sipper, not something you could drink much of.

Bottle at home, aged for about a year. Clear dark amber color. Medium size, dark yellow bubbly head. Big tropical fruity hop aromas, caramel, some booze evident. Similar taste with a lot of punch. Resinous finish.

Not sure what defines the line between a triple IPA and a hyper-hopped barleywine, because I’d easily classify Devil Dancer as the latter in a blind tasting. That being said, it’s still a pretty delicious beer, big and malty as hell, thick streams of caramel and dark fruits backed up by a vicious citric/pine hop attack. Clingy, resinous finish retains the initial sweetness, but never grows cloy. Citrus pine nose doesn’t hint at the massive malt presence, and the pour comes out a dark red-brown with a modest head and tons o’ lace. Not hot despite the ABV. Good brew.

Hazy amber. Moderate off-white head. Big malty nose. Melon, honey. Tropical fruit are also well detectable. Nuts. Full body. Medium dry taste. Melon, honey, nuts. Medium citrusy bitterness. Delicious.

17/20 bit of a blockbuster. Huge taste, huge alcohol hit, big complexity. Also huge bitterness but that's masked by the big initial taste. A bit of a monster but bloody good. 12% abv ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy, dark red amber. Light beige froth. Strong pine and caramel aroma. Some grapefruit too. Sweet flavour, caramel and piney bitterness. Warming alcohol. Good - and very nice with cheese by the way...

Hazy, red brown beer with mediun light beige head. Aroma is very strong with malts, caramel and wood. Taste has malts, grape, wood and alcohol. Strong citrus bitterness, which still stays in balance. Full body. Nice, quite special.
