COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Chestnut pour with a light tan head which soon goes. Very enticing nose. Plenty of caramel, raisins and toffee. Has a sweet and fruity feel too. Flavours of toffee, licorice, some coffee, dark fruits and a little sweet spice. Dry, bitter-sweet finish. Nice.

Bottle. Pours ruby-brown with thin camel head; decent lace. Nose of malt, smoke, and plum. Hot taste of burnt caramel, maple and booze. Metallic finish. Alcohol is very prevelant.

Bottled. A reddish brown beer with a creamy but small beige head. Aroma is malty and fruity, notes of dried fruits, caramel and burnt sugar. Taste is also malty and bittersweet, strong caramel notes, raisins and plums. Sweet after taste. Nice texture. Very good beer

12 oz. bottle. Pours deep brown with tan head. Initial taste was bearable but the after taste was to smokey. Not to knowledgeable about beers but i dont think scotch ales are for me. Pricey to boot, so this one gets the boot!

Rich malty flavors are nice: slight figs, caramel, with a finishing bit of citrusy hop bitterness. The thing that takes this one a bit off the rails is the alcohol, which is omnipresent. In the nose, I get a slight quiver of the nostrils from the overwhelming alcohol. The palate notices it too and even burns a bit for it. A good option if you like boozier, sweeter beers. In spite of my review for BT, I will claim neutrality.

Poured a dark amber ruby color and cloudy. Minimal head. Malty aroma (nuts caramel). Aroma has a strong presence. Light to med sweetness. Starts off sweet and malty on the tongue. Finished smokey alchohol taste with nice blend of hop. Complex. Light bitterness at end. Medium body, soft carbonation. Long finish. Good sipping style beer. Would get again.

Dark red ale with just a litte of head. Aroma of dark berries, caramel and sweet malts. Some smoke there too.Just a little bitter but sweet taste. Soft carbonation. Flows smoothly through your mouth without leaving you cold.

Pours very dark red with a minimal head that tends to disappear. Amazing extra sweet aroma with hints of dry fruits like raisins or plums, some smokiness also but soft. Round malty and sweet taste with a smokey note, dark honey. Full body, creamy feeling, soft carbonation and medium after taste with dry finish.

Bottle, beermerchants.com. Sweet and malty, with tobacco and rum flavours. A beer that is thick and chewy, rich and definitely best drunk in small doses. Did become a little bit cloying.
