Pint at Rattle n Hum. Directly after pints of Founders Porter & Double Trouble. I have to say, this doesn’t really compete with those hard hitters. Pour is a brown with a red/maroon hint... no head is retained. Lots of sweet malts, rich and supple. Body is medium and a bit slick. Does hide the alc well. mrmekon (100) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 1, 2010
Draft. Clear, dark amber, small off-white head, minimal lacing. Almost no aroma. Sweet and malty up front, earthy hops on finish. Well balanced. tgncc (3129) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAR 27, 2010
UPDATED: APR 21, 2010 Aroma is caramel, earthy, light smoke. The appearance is an amber color, white head. The flavor is malt forward, caramel, expected for the style and notes of earth, smoke. The finish is piney hops. Medium body. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a good representation of the style. dwaggs2 (1297) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - MAR 26, 2010
Bottle. Poured a darker amber color with a light white head. Aroma was malts, caramel, and other fruits. I am not a huge fan of this style but this was was very good. Love this beer, and Founders. mixmasterob (1057) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAR 25, 2010
Pours a ruby red color with tiny head. Aroma is of crystal malts which impart some sweetness. Taste is somewhat of a malty sweetness with little to no hop bitterness. Alcohol is hidden well making it very drinkable. Not too shabby.
