Had from the bottle. Poured a dark brown with a hint of red, also had off-white head, not alot though. Aroma sweet, with hint of fruit and caramel. Tasted malty, with hints of licorice and sweet fruit. Finishes strong with a lingering sweetness. This beer was a great experience. rosenbergh (11957) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 28, 2010

Dark reddish brown colour with tiny white head and some floaters.
Yeast, dried fruits and caramel in aroma.
Dark bitter hops and yeast in flavour.
Bottle from a trade with phaleslu. Pours reddish brown color with light tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and peat with a hint of smokiness. Sweet malty flavor with some peat, earthiness and some mild smoke. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Peter. Gachupines (1252) - USA - FEB 24, 2010
Appearance is a dark reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma is somewhat sweet, with some licorice. Flavor is malty with that same bittersweet flavor noticeable in the aroma. Finish is smooth with a slight sweetness that sticks to the tongue. Quite pleasant, would definitely recommend. Borresteijn (7602) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 21, 2010
33cl Bottle at Beer Temple. Hazy reddish amber colour, off white head. Aroma of caramel, some yeast, lots of malts, dried fruits. Resembles Great Divide Hibernation Ale, but lacks some hops. Flavour is sweet, malty, dried fruits, light spicy, yeasty, light bitter hoppy finish, bitterness lingers a bit. Medium to fullbodied, soft carbonation.

I’m surprised I have not rated this yet. Pours a dark brown/red. The aroma is woody and doughy. The flavor has a lot going on. Rich with chocolates, caramel, and some spiciness. Has a smokey finish with some bitterness. A real tasteful beer that you can tell was crafted with great care. Cybercat (6343) - Georgia, USA - FEB 19, 2010
Pours a deep opaque chocolate-coffee brown with a fine-bubbled beige head. Aroma is malty with a chocolaty undertone and a hint of caramel. Flavor is lively, malty and spicy with an undertone of cinnamon candy and just a whisper of sweetness. Texture is edgy, tingly and sassy - it seems to dance on your tongue. Distinguished by a rich, full body with sufficient hops to balance its malty sweetness. I like this beer ... alot. patrickfannon (1242) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 19, 2010
Bottle. 12 oz. Split with Vinny. Pours deep amber ruby with a thin, silky off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, scotch, roasted barley, rye, and hints of raisins. Body is mild, approachable and tasty; palate is warm and smooth. Finishes with a classic bit of scotch warming. Great scotch ale. sepia5 (237) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 16, 2010
Nice scotch ale that isn’t overly smokey, but will still remind you which style it belongs to. I felt like the alcohol was presented a bit too strongly, but that’s not too major a problem. Overall, a good scotch ale, but there are others I’d rather be drinking, most notably the Dark Horse Scotty Karate.
