Bottle. Pours a luminous ruby brown with a large sticky beige head that dissipates to a clumpy film. Substantial lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel malt, a bit of toffee and dark fruit. Flavors are toffee, dark fruit, cocoa, toasted bread, earthy hops and bit of smokiness. Rich and full bodied. Noticeable alcohol warmth. Somewhat peppery mouthfeel, but otherwise, creamy. Wonderfully complex. There’s nothing to complain about with this one. justkoehn (151) - Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2017

On tap at Hippo Glasgow. Dark red/brown beer, off-white head. Light malty, fruit scent. Taste is rich malt, apple, citrus, dried fruit, toffee. Light, tangy aftertaste that gets a bit sickly as you go through it. The taste of alcohol is more than I’d like but otherwise it’s nice. ricke49 (31) - La Pine, Oregon, USA - MAY 31, 2017
Not many 12 oz bottles can be pleasurably consumed over a one-hour period. Dirty Bastard though was made for such a session. Complex, hearty, delicious & with enough bitterness to keep things interesting. wlf (567) - DENMARK - MAY 31, 2017
