Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

From the get go, you smell caramel, sweet citrus, malty aroma, dark brown appearance, citrus taste almost a hint of orange/lemon, very floral, the hoppy aftertaste is great. Impressive beer!

Poured from its stubby bottle, it appears a clear dark brown topped off with tan froth. The aromas are of boozy dried fruits and caramel, and the taste that follows is coffee, chocolates, roasted malt and smoke. Overall, taste is sweet with very little bitter and a medium bodied mouthfeel.

355ml bottle. Pours a clear dark ruby with a large, frothy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, chocolate, dried fruit, licorice and brown sugar. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, chocolate, overripe fruit, licorice, molasses and a hint of peat in a dry, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Tasty, an excellent scotch ale.

12 oz. can poured into a pint glass. Canned on 5/8/17. Enjoyed 8/8/17. L. Super dark brown with a big frothy tan head which lasts and laces the glass. S. Dark brown sugar, molasses, nutty, slightly smoky, brown bread, clean wood. Smells dang good. T. Sweet dark bread like zucchini bread, molasses, rich roasted malt, slight smoke and wood, toffee, a bit of bitter chocolate, finishes with grassy bitterness. Nice. F. Leaning toward a full body, subdued carbonation, sticky resinous finish with just a little bit of drying, not boozy at all. O. I've passed over this so many times, but boy am I glad I finally grabbed some Dirty Bastards. I am pretty sure this will be in my fridge most days from now on, especially during the cooler months, especially especially at like 20 bucks incl. tax per 12 pack. Well done Founders! Filling up a hole in my ratings. Pours a brown with a full, foamy, light tan head. The aroma is earthy, containing heavier amounts of caramel and bread, some raisin, licorice, peat, and a slight chocolate. The taste is dry and a little sweet. Its earthy and peaty, with a slight roasted compliment. Strong caramel, fig, and raisin flavors, lesser smoke, and a very slight whiskey will be found as well. Peaty aftertaste. Medium in body, rather thin in texture, and a little softer in carbonation. Quite a bit going on with this one. Interesting, tasty, and solid.

Had a tough time getting through this one personally. It’s intense, tastes like it should tho. I’m just not a fan of the style. Sorry to hurt the ratings, this one my first wee heavy ever.

Klar r?dbrunt med off white skum. Herlig duft med mye karamell, noe kaffe og h?y. Smaken er kaffen fremtredende. Litt skuffet over tynn munnf?lelse.

Very deep brown, close to black body, with a head that is a bit smaller than average, it’s creamy, light brown and it leaves some lacing. Strong aroma of dark caramel, roasted malt, and dark dried fruits, with brown sugar and burnt sugar in the back. Also hints of honey and vanilla. Strong flavour of sweet caramel, dark caramel, roasted malt, and dark dried fruits. In the back I get burnt sugar, brown sugar, and fermented apples. Additional hints of leather, vanilla and smoke. Moderate sweet taste that is perfectly backed up by a toasted malty dryness and a nice moderate bitterness in the long-lasting finish. Full body, creamy and smooth texture, soft carbonation. A perfectly balanced scotch ale, lovely!
