COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Drank in pilsner poured from 12 oz bottle. Smells more like rye beer than the red rey from founders. Can smell the alcohol. Appearance- dark auburn color with no carbonation or head. Taste - lots of yeast and malt flavors. Almost like beer drenched bread. Its ok. Not my favorite beer. Somewhat like an amber ale. Palate- poor mouthfeel. Get the heat and barf flavor. Not a fan. Overall- its ok. Will not drink again but still better than expected from a scotch drink.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2018 Cloudy red-brown color. Fairly hoppy, but overly so. Good flavor, but nothing to really put it above the rest.

Pours a deep, dark amber coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of caramel, bready malts, dark bread and a hint of dark fruit and booze. Taste follows the nose, with a strong malt presence dominated by caramel, bready malt and notes of toffee, dark bread, dark fruit: fig, raisin, with a hint of smoke and chocolate. Some earthy, bittering hop notes in there as well. Finishes with a medium, but kinda harsh, boozy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel with low carbonation. All in all, this is nicely balanced, albeit maybe just a hint too sweet and boozy.

Muddy brown with beige head. Cookie dough, gingerbread sweet aroma. Sweet, grainy mouthfeel, gingerbread and some light medicinal bitterness. Smooth long lasting flavor. I'm coming to realize that this Scotch ale style is fucking bomb and something I can always get down with. Good on Founders to brew more than just the usual suspect styles. Thanks Lagzibacsi!!!
