Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Pours a dark reddish brown with a slight tannish white head that quickly dies off. The beer has a spicy, sweet aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla and brown sugar. Flavor is full or malts up front with a lot of raisin and figs. The taste is kind of earthy with some alcohol on the finish, just the right amount to know its there but doesn?t overwhelm. The body on this one is medium to heavy, almost syrupy with low to medium carbonation. Overall a great beer, one of my favorite scotch ales.

Poured a solid dark brown with small brown head. Aroma sweet dark malts and dark rum with cola. Taste is rich, strong, sweet malts and dried fruit undertones. Followed by a bold bitter malty finish that turns slightly acrid/burnt on the end. Full bodied, well carbonated, great length to finish. Enjoyed thoroughly.

Just a even balanced scotch ale that isn't over hopped like so many others. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle poured. I actually think I picked this one up while traveling, before Founders made it to the PNW. Super excited to have it finally, then it showed up everywhere around here. Oh well, same great beer. Dusty, dark brown pour with a tan cream foam head. Sweet and spicy malt aroma. Toasty malt, a light charred wood note, balanced by the slightest hint of vanilla/cream. A pleasant, easy drinking scotch ale here. Bold almost smokey linger. Exceptional for the style.

Ambrée sombre, forte mousse beige. Fort nez malté, caramel brun, pain, fruits noirs. Gout malté, foin et fruits noirs secs, caramel cuit, un peu grillé et pain avec bonne amertume, épices et fruits noirs un peu macérés en fin de bouche.

Sweet aroma, with hints of caramel, tofee, raisins, black "cocada" (coconut candy); followed by a little herbal hop. Taste follows; alcohol perfectly balanced. Nice color and head. Complex, smooth, warmy. Excellent beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Stillwater tavern in St Pete, Fl. Dark brown pour. Minimal aroma. Can taste peat mixed mixed with dirt. Solid beer but not phenomenal. 97 rating seems high

Obfita, drobna piana, trwała i ładnie zdobiąca szkło - wzorcowo to wygląda. Barwa ciemno miedziana, klarowna. W aromacie głównie karmel, orzech laskowy, toffi, irysy czy krówki, w tle odrobina ziół. W smaku półsłodkie, lekko szorstkie, generalnie to samo co w zapachu, w afterteasie minimalna ogniskowa wędzonka. Goryczka średnia do niskiej, tytoniowo herbaciana. W odbiorze nisko wysycone, gładkie, raczej rzadkie. Zgrabnie ukryty alkohol.
Dość zwykłe, nieco wodniste Scotch Ale, całkiem za to pijalne, ot codzienne piwo jako alternatywa do jasnych lub czarnych Ale...

Bottle, 355mL. Home. A very dark brown sparkling beer with a medium off-white head ; medium retention, average lacing. Caramel, roast, licorice, dried fruits. Medium round sweet warming, light to medium dry bitter. Good body, light to medium oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet caramel warming dry lasting finish. Overall, very good, great !

Bottle. Pours a luminous ruby brown with a large sticky beige head that dissipates to a clumpy film. Substantial lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel malt, a bit of toffee and dark fruit. Flavors are toffee, dark fruit, cocoa, toasted bread, earthy hops and bit of smokiness. Rich and full bodied. Noticeable alcohol warmth. Somewhat peppery mouthfeel, but otherwise, creamy. Wonderfully complex. There’s nothing to complain about with this one.
