Poured from the bottle into a trumpet glass to drink. The beer had a thick dark amber-copper pour and color with light sediment and a smallish foamy white head that had short retention, modest cling, and average lacing. The aroma featured floral and fruity hops notes along with some caramel malt and sugar, and touches of pine, grain, and a smoky effect. It was a bitter-sour grainy and fruity blend in taste with an undertone of lightly sweet caramel malt. The body was very thick and full mouthfeel with low-to-average carbonation and a wet character.

Bottle. Pours a luminous ruby brown with a large sticky beige head that dissipates to a clumpy film. Substantial lacing on the glass. Aromas of caramel malt, a bit of toffee and dark fruit. Flavors are toffee, dark fruit, cocoa, toasted bread, earthy hops and bit of smokiness. Rich and full bodied. Noticeable alcohol warmth. Somewhat peppery mouthfeel, but otherwise, creamy. Taste is medium sweet and medium- bitter, caramel, bread, raisin, light smoke, dried fruits, plum. Bitter finish with notes of burnt caramel, dark fruits. Medium+ body, soft to average carbonation. Quite rich and tasty.

On tap at Hippo Glasgow. Dark red/brown beer, off-white head. Light malty, fruit scent. Taste is rich malt, apple, citrus, dried fruit, toffee.
