COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here you have what could be the first malt liquor worthy of a glass. Typically a slighted style, we thought we would class it up with a stay in the wood and a healthy dose of dry-hopping. A huge hit of corn gives this one a smooth sweetness while its time spent aging in bourbon barrels will give you reason to share. Be warned: this one’s a pry-off, not a twist-off.

12 oz bottle, 2017 release, bottled on 7/3/17. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet corny malt leading a a big vanilla bourbon booze.

The flavor is sweet creamy corny malt with a big harsh vanilla bourbon booze with some harsh alcohol bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, it's a big huge boozy mess.

Aromat: w ciemno dałbym ze to beczkowane barley wine. Kandyzowane owoce, daktyle, figi, karmel, wanilia i kokos, dosyć mocny i przyjemny bourbon. Bardzo fajnie czuć beczkę. Do tego sporo słodkich, jasnych owoców. Wygląd: bursztynowe, czyściutkie i przejrzyste, niewielka, biała, drobnopęcherzykowa warstwa piany. Smak: dobre i wcale nie takie znowu zamulające. Bardzo fajna i wyraźna zbożowa baza słodowa, takie odczucie jakby to był skondensowany lager. Karmel, toffi, owoce kandyzowane, daktyle, wanilia i bourbon, dobra i mocna beczka. Sporo jasnych owoców wnosi nieco lekkości. Przyjemna, lekka lagerowa, ziołowa goryczka też robi tu robotę. Odczucie: pełne, geste, nisko wysycone, dobrze zamaskowany alkohol, finisz gorzkawy. Całość: nie taki diabeł straszny, obawiałem się zamulającej słodyczy a tu bardzo fajne piwo. Po Invictus od Flying Monkeys już chyba żadne piwo nie wyda mi się za słodkie. świetna beczka wnosząca kokos, wanilię, bourbon i drewna. Baza słodowa też dobra i różni się od tych w barley wine i innych stylach. Mocne, treściwe i rozgrzewające, oryginalne, ciekawe, smaczne piwo. 8/4/8/4/16

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Clear amber colour lasting white head. Barley wine malt liquor flavour. Served extra cold. Some toffee. Some orange zest. Light heat. I mean it makes you drunk. Amazing really. Good bitter hops on the finish. Like an orange liqueur. Lovely sipper. Big bold but it works.

Malz, Holzfass, dunkle Trauben, Barleywine. Hinten holzig, Whisky. Sehr wärmend. Grandioser Absacker. Danach ins Bett.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2018 On tap @ Holy Craft. Fantastic sticky nose. The beer starts sticky intense. Lots of depth from grain and smooth sweetness. The alcohol isn’t there, round and rich with an intense deep grainy maltiness. Fantastic!

Pours with an okay white head. Color is copper, almost clear. Looks quite nice. Rich aroma has malt, chocolate, marsipan, vanilla, cherry, bourbon (it's clearly bourbon) barrel, some alcohol, some licorice and salt licorice. Smooth, thick palate that's very nicely balanced. Just a slight, slight emptiness in the body, otherwise nice. Taste starts smoothly and evolves to the tastes. Malt, egg nog, spring water, boiled egg, red berry (mainly strawberry) jam, hops with some bitterness in body, very slight burnt taste. Quite complex beer that brings some novel sensations. I've not tasted boiled egg,red berry jam or egg nog in a beer before. Good beer as well, quite rich (so means small portions), but offers a good amount of depth/complexity, while being enjoyable at the same time.

Pours amber with a fading head. Nose shows heavy vanilla and coconut bourbon notes, sooft woody oak, caramel, booze and spicy hops. Intensely sweet flavours of caramel, toffee, coconut, bourbon, heavy booze, and a reasonable bitterness with a bit of an abrasive quality.

355 ml bottle from Bumble Inn,Peterborough,bb 26/06/2018. Burnt orange, minimally hazy, streams of bubbles, white head. I can't demand more. Nose - honey, vanilla, wood, biscuits, sweet, boozy and heavy. Very bourbony nose after warming up. Taste - sweet, malty, alcoholic, warms the stomach. Oily and leaves astringent feel in the mouth. Yeah, this style truly belongs in a paper bag.
