UPDATED: MAR 11, 2010 1/2 a shared 12oz. bottle. Pours a beer-infused piss golden yellow, surprising considering the quality of this brew. Nose is fresh hops, piney, citrus. Taste is excellent with slightly sweet, smooth pine hop flavor and small floral accent. Slight carbonation and 9.4abv is dangerously hidden. Goes down very easy and aftertaste has me wanting more. I could keep my nose in this glass all night...this is what a DIPA should smell like. YUM! JK (6294) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - JUL 30, 2009
This is probably the best double IPA I have had since Surly 16 grit. Copper color. Little carbonation. Big hop aroma with grapefruit and citrus. More of the same in the flavor, but the alcohol is noticeable in the aftertaste. A sweet hop flavor. Very nice. sarahmarie (265) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 28, 2009
Has the expected piney citrus aroma mixed with some fruity aspects and a strong alcohol presence in both smell and taste. It’s not quite as hoppy as expected, because of a lemony alcohol dominating. The hops are tangy and bittersweet. The alcohol stirs in the stomach at the end. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JUL 28, 2009
On tap at Coles Buffalo NY. Pours a pretty light golden. Piney citrus hop aroma along with some booziness. Nice pine hop explosion. Resiny sticky hops. Full mouthfeel. well done Soonah (1120) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - JUL 24, 2009
From coyotehunter via trade. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with a short white head. Sticky lacing. The aroma is resinous pine hops, light citrus and a whiff of alcohol. The flavor is pretty much the same thing, aggressive, sticky pine hops that find very little balance with softer caramel malts or citrus. Medium bodied, almost oily mouthfeel. Slightly unchecked alcohol heat. Just OK.

Pours blonde with a small head. The aroma is kind of alcohol forward but not in a bad way, it mixes well with the citrus and pine, just a touch of caramel balances this one out. Flavor is well balanced between sweet and dry, there is plenty of mango with some citrus and a good hop bitterness. Chimpy5 (19) - Iowa, USA - JUL 22, 2009
Poured a golden-amber with med head. Had a spicy aroma with some hops in there too. Flavor was very full with lots of hops and malt. Overall a really solid IIPA ketchepillar (1199) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JUL 22, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 26, 2010 7/22/09. Thanks Andy! Spicy, piny hops. Some alcohol in the aroma. Aroma isn’t hugely hoppy but is nice. Nice, moderately "rough" hop bitterness in the finish. Solid malt body, it’s no Cali IIPA.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2015 bottle fro 3 Son. Packed with hops as a double I PA should be. Not quite as aromatic as some but full flavor

(12oz bottle) Medium off-white head that leaves nice lacing atop clear light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, grapefruit, light peach. Taste is moderately sweet, intensely bitter pine/grapefruit, some alcohol. Soft medium-full body, some chewiness. Not bad, but more maltiness to counter some of the alcohol would really improve this one.
