older notes...this poured a reddish copper, mostly clear with some white head. big, hefty tropical notes with moderate rye and spiciness in the nose, complemented by the equally straight-forward hop punch in the flavor. nicely done and fresh Tmoney99 (15219) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2011
Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate complex hop & rye aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy smooth bitter finish of moderate to long duration. A very good beer.

On tap at he brewery. Deep red in color, clear, with nice lacing down the glass. Bi citrus hops aroma, rye spiciness. Medium-bodied, dry and crisp finish, but a solid malt backbone to balance. A hoppier Red’s Rye with more rye! HopBurp (74) - Michigan, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Snifter from Westbrook’s growler (he brought from Founders, picked up earlier that day). Pours an amber clean with heavy lacing throughout. Heavy amazing aroma of tropical fruits, pineapple. This was a hop heads delight. Big mouth bruising IPA (wasn’t the first time that would happen Saturday night--got sucker punched outside the bar). Anyway, nice and fresh and bursting with heavy mouth puckering hops. Huge, hop forward--fresh strong and yummy. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - FEB 25, 2011
I had this on tap at the pub and now rating from my growler. Pours amber and clear with a small off-white head and some nice sticky lace on the glass. Nose is mild fruity and citrus hop blended nicely with light caramel malts, and some spicy rye characteristic. Taste is very hop forward with some nice malt flavors. Taste is crisp and dry with an abrupt finish and just slightly bitter. A very nice beer.
