Dark amber colored pour with an off-white head. Toffee and dark fruit notes with some roasted malt, chocolate, and leather. Somewhat watery, a bit of toasted nuts, and some toast. Sort of a bland, watery flavor. Toffee and toasted malt sweetness, some chocolate, cocoa powder, and a hint of roast. A weird leathery quality, hints of dark fruit, and some toasted nuts. Bottle shared at Natifest ’14. Poured clear dark brown color with an average to large frothy tan head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate complex toasted malt and sweet fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted complex sweet flavor with a solid sweet finish of moderate to long duration. 750 ml bottle shared by Beerpig317 - thanks again, Bunker! Never even heard of this one before. Interesting. 2012 vintage. Pours an amber color with a finger of off-white head. Nuts of toasted malts, tobacco, nuts, earth, brown sugar, dried fruit, and oak. Hints of oxidation setting in. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a dry, toasty mouthfeel. 750mL thanks to the DC crew. Pours a clear, deep red. Tan foam with good, rocky retention and webby lacing. Nose is sticky, Twizzlers, hazelnut, pepper, coffee. Taste is bitter coffee, peppercorn, chili pepper heat. Palate is thinner, tangy, sharp bitter chocolate and coffee. Very interesting and enjoyable. I guess a coffee brown ale. Nice. Some light hints of oxidization, maybe. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, lightly spicy. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Bottle:   Darker brown, moderate frothy beige like head, fairly nice lacing.   Malty/biscuity nose, somewhat sweet, little hop to be seen.   Faint cocoa as well.   Malty tongue, definite biscuit, little hop presense, soft cocoa or chocolate notes.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   A bit more hop on the finish.   Malty, soft chocolate malts, like a very nice Brown Ale.   Clean, enjoyable, and tasty.
