On tap at Founders. Translucent amber-orange body, thin off-white head. Nose of light grain and herbs; body moorish and boggy with rosemary and other tannic, almost tart herbs. OK. edraz (12) - Alabama, USA - OCT 3, 2011
Had this beer at founders on tap in Kalamazoo Michigan. It had a nice spicy aroma in spicy taste. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - OCT 2, 2011
Draft on tap at the brepub (Grand Rapids, MI). Pours a mellow amber hue, faint haze but fairly transparent. A frothy whitish head sits atop, laces small. Aromas are juniper berries and sweet malts, you can tell there is no true hop presence. Touches of spicy yeast and adjuncts, with toffee, caramel, and biscuits. A sweeter nose with a juniper twang. Initial is heavier end of lighter bodied offering some bittering pine up front. Quickly moving into dry toast and sweet malts. Toffee, some biscuits, and caramel. Fairly lacking bitterness, a touch of ABV with faint lemon and florals, a sweeter malt dominant body preaches toast and mellow caramel. Toffee, some touches of vanilla, toast. Finish is a bit crisp, lightly earthy dry. Certainly, an interesting beer. Not my thing though. Strykzone (7491) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - SEP 17, 2011
12 oz glass at the brewpub. Clear and golden with a bit of honey color. Only a white ring of foam. This is very meady and herbal. Totally different from any other beer I have had. The honey and sage is tasty and so interesting. The feel is nice and smooth. Sammy (12485) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 5, 2011
On tap at the brewery Tasting Room. I am found of the style. and this hits the style, but not the best representation of it. Bay leave and spices yet only neutral aroma dark colour with a light head. The attempt was to be unoffensive rather than boldly make and serve it.

Sample at the brewpub. I really liked this a lot. Certainly different than anything I’ve tried before. Interesting spicy elements and very easy to drink. Recommended. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - SEP 1, 2011
On tap at Founders last weekend. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a clear golden color with a good white head and some slight lacing on the way down. The nose brings forward loads of sage. Really heavy on the sage with some other herbs and a bit of bread there as well. Flavor is full of slightly-bitter sage and herbs plus faint malt. Dry finish. Strange, but I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like it. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - AUG 20, 2011
tap at founders. golden amber body with big white head. nice and fizzy. honey, spice, a touch of clove, and ginger all around. flavor adds more of a grain bill with added honey. nistky earthy and bready neuromatt (1225) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2011
On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear golden amber with a small amount of white foam but no head. The nose is sweet and fruity with herbs and caramel malts. The flavour is moderately sweet throughout with fruit and berries. Herbs enter in the middle and persist to the end; lemon grass and flowers perhaps. The finish is moderate in length and clean with notes of toasted malts. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, syrupy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is an interesting brew that remains well balanced without the use of hops. There are plenty of herbs and a nice fruity accent. A tasty summer beer. 2011-08-16
