Pours a hazy straw color. Decent size foamy off-white head that clears quick but leaves decent lace on the galss.
Smells of sharp, dry aggressive lemon and citrus hops. Not much else on the nose.
Flavor starts with sharp bitterness, especially for 70 ibus. Following the nose, spicy sharp lemon zest notes dominate the flavor, with some other citrus notes in the background. Nothing much in the way of any malt action, balance, no booze in the flavor. Interesting, but very one-dimensional on the flavor. Palate is super dry and crisp, with only a bit of that bitterness lingering on the finish. Very interesting and unique IPA, that really only suffers from the lack of depth in the hop profile. Multiple samples from recent trades. Pours a hazy amber with a generous white head. Smells of citrus and earthy. Tastes mildly bitter with some grass, perfume, wildflowers, citrus. Finishes tarte and dry. Naven (1000) - Poway, California, USA - MAY 29, 2009
This is probably the case of the right beer at the wrong time. Since this is a Wet Hop ale, I am assuming it was released in September or October, so this may be a little old. The hops seem a little muted, musty and somewhat restrained. Surprisingly strong alcohol burn as well. Some good crisp bitterness is there, but overall it seems to be lacking something. I would imagine that this is pretty epic fresh from the tap. Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 19, 2009
Bottled. A hazy dark golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is swet with notes of malt, hops, and fresh cut grass. The flavor is sweet with notes fomalt and grass, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. kosko20 (352) - Bemidji, Minnesota, USA - MAY 17, 2009
This is one solid IPA. Pour is a little light in color but looks great otherwise...clear orange copper with a thick white head. Aroma is lovely hops: grapefruit, lemon, floral, and fruity. Flavor is light bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Has a slight metallic aftertaste but overall, very enjoyable.

The first thing on the nose from the bottle for me was grapefruit. As it sat a while a little bread and caramel. From a dark gold pour with a large fluffy white head and lace. A bit of lemony like flavor on the very front. A decent bitter finish. Medium bodied with good soft carbonation. A good beer but I was looking for a bit more maltiness and it also had a bit of a metallic after taste. Another one to add to the re-rate list. mkobes (2142) - paramus, New Jersey, USA - MAY 9, 2009
Bottle. Hazy orange yellow in color with a nice white head. Grassy fruity hoppy aroma. Malty caramel notes. Malt hoppy flavor. Citrusy piney fruity notes. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. Finish is bitter. clean. Great beer. Very drinkable. heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAY 4, 2009
Medium gold body with an off white head. The aroma was grapefruit and grass with some sweet cake donuts. The taste was light grapefruit with some almonds. There also a little bit of bitter wood in the finish. Nice. nuplastikk (6414) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 27, 2009
12oz bottle. Hazy orange-yellow color. Big, lively head. Bitter astringent hop aroma, serious grapefruit. Bitter and full of flavor, but whereas most hop-bombs leave you with a syrupy aftertaste, this one is incredibly light and refreshing. Fresh Hop is one of my favorite styles, and this is an interesting variation, not as in your face and earthy as most. Excellent IPA. Brigadier (3725) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - APR 20, 2009

As the price of singles gets higher I have become a bit more picky in what I will try. This being a Founders release I had no problems pulling the trigger. They have a solid IPA though I didn’t enjoy it as much as some seem to have. Given the choice there are a few locals that ranks just as highly in my book for less money.
Aroma / Appearance - The huge pillowy head softened the appearance of the opaque cloudy body. Mandarin oranges, grapefruit rinds, and honeydew melon gave it a citrus kick with some fresh roses thrown in for good measure.
Flavor / Palate - Bitter rose petals, lemon zest, and crumbs of rye toast create a dry and only slightly harsh impression on the tongue. The aftertaste is almost like Vegemite but more appealing because you know that it is desirable here. This is one to drink ASAP; I can see it sliding fast if it gets too much age.
