4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: NOV 20, 2013 Updated for 2013 release
A: Floral, hint of malt. Subtle citrus. Smooth. 2013: Huge citrus note. Not as much floral this time but still there. Huge honey note. Sweet.
A: Slight haze in a medium golden color. A bit on a lighter side. 2013: Same.
T: Certainly not a light beer. Good balance of hops, citrus, and malt. And when I mean good balance I mean great balance. 2013: Same. Definately a little malt a little citrus and a little hops. Amazing balance.
P: A bit of lingering bitterness is offputting but smooth on the palate with a pretty solid finish. 2013: Same
Overall the first couple bottle of this I had I enjoyed very much but thought nothing of it... But this time, bottle number three, I realize that for what this beer is, it’s pretty amazing. It’s nothing big or epic but what you have here is the best showing of what a pale ale can be. Good hops, good balance and nothing offputting about it. Somewhere between easy drinking and a big something to talk about ale. Simply a great beer.
Lots of citrus, not too much bitterness, a bit creamy - but overall not much of a stand-out IPA in my opinion natejgood (531) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - NOV 10, 2017
Pours light golden with lots or large bubbles floating toward the top of the glass. Head is small but maintains nicely. Aroma of citrus, honey and hops. It smells good. This beer gives a good pucker at the back sides of the tongue. Smooth in the mouth but lots of carbonation. Slightly bitter, but overall the flavor doesn't live up to the aroma. ironcontra (467) - ATL, Georgia, USA - NOV 9, 2017
really it's just pure butter with a just a hint of hop bitterness, but strangely relaxin, w very well-hidden alco Jrwhitney6 (509) - - NOV 8, 2017
Pours from bottle a clear light orange with thin white film. Nose is tropical fruit. Taste is some grapefruit and citrus, with some bitter hops on finish. It’s nothing complex, but the simplicity of this is great - it all comes together and is enjoyable from start to finish.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2017 12 oz bottle, thanks brenn79. Aroma is piney, grapefruit peel, floral, tropical fruit. Pours slightly hazy orange with a one finger off white head with good retention. Taste is mid level bitter and candy sweet with flavors of tropical fruit, pine. Aroma is better than flavor, but this is still pretty good.

Copper color with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma of earthy, pine, and resinous hops. A little more hop bitterness on the palate with more of an earthy hop character, maybe a little citrus in there. Lingering bitterness on the finish with a hint of malt sweetness. cards04 (2931) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 25, 2017
Pours a dark golden. Aromas of dank hops, resin. Quite bitter and resinous for a fresh hop ale. Good beer.. But was hoping for more with the high rating oobawa (1792) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 13, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 15, 2017 Gave this a 4.3 nine years ago. Times change, palates change, IPAs evolve...Not that Founders Harvest is bad, and I'm sure it did absolutely blow me away when I first tried it in 2008. Now, though, it's a pretty straightforward pre-Craft Boom IPA, citric and bitter but not nearly as aromatic and aggressive as the hop bombs of today, more piney and herbal than fruit forward. (I'm assuming the beer's stayed the same post-San Miguel buyout, but, judging by the erratic quality of the brewery's current offerings, it's entirely possible 2008 Harvest was a different beast altogether.) I enjoy the old-school bitterness, the huge pine-resin back end that lingers forever on the palate, but that's the main thing Harvest brings to the table. Otherwise, it's a well-made, somewhat dull IPA. ehaak26 (725) - - OCT 8, 2017
From a bottle. Pours orange with white head. Aroma of juicy citrus and toasted malts. balloonbuffoon (650) - - SEP 30, 2017
12floz bottle, BOD: 09.19.2017, $12 paid for a four-pack, nonic glass. Appears a golden color, with clarity, and bubbles rushing up to support a tight white head that laces the sides. Aroma is big on orange, and to a lesser extent general herbs. The palate is medium-full in body and moderately-high in apparent bitterness.Pretty good, but taste plays it straight pine-citrus and little else.
