One of the best Founders has to offer. It’s exactly what they say it is, a strong, golden ale. There isn’t a whole lot to it, it’s really well balanced. Nothing stands out much, but it goes down very nicely, especially with food. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 10, 2005
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Rating #1900... Draft... Clear, yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Very good retention with minimal lace. A political map of the United States and Mexico appears in the lacing. This was probably planned-out by the brewmaster as D.C. is a very politically oriented town. NOT! Still, a really cool occurrence. Spicy, breadsy aroma with some lemon thrown in. The flavor is lightly spicy and decently balanced with notes of grain, straw and overripe banana. The alcohol is just a touch hot, but not overbearing. Delicious overall. Full-bodied and astringent with pillow-soft carbonation. Lengthy, spicy, medium-bitter, bone dry finish. Lovely creation! jeffin7 (613) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - FEB 19, 2005
Draft @ RFD: I love Bill Madden and most of his brews but this was entirely underwelming. Aroma was a vague malty sweetness with some spice. Flavor was a watery belgian yeast, spice, and slight maltiness. Not much really worked in this beer. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 29, 2004

A quality Belgian White. A bit dry with a nice overlay of citrus and spice.

Creamy off-white head atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is mild, light sweet, lemon sour, light orange peel, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, cardemom, orange peel, lemon, herbal, pepper, some alcohol noticeable. Creamy medium-full body.
