Dark orange appearance. Citrusy hops and fruit in the aroma. Body has virtually the same tastes as the IPA but is much smoother and has a greater hop bite. I suspect that the drinkability of this IPA was due to a large amount of malt, the large ABV didn't make an unpleasant appearance either. Nicely balanced and big IPA. A very high alcohol IPA, nice hops flavor when first swallowed, followed by a hint of alcohol. Hoppiest beer here. jskendzel (602) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 7, 2002
Lots of hops, as per style. I would have liked more malt backbone--I felt the hops dominated in a cloying way. Not as smooth as some others I've had. Great aroma.
